As I walk off stage I'm immediately consumed in hugs and positive words from the girls as they thank me for dancing with them on such short notice. I talk with them for a couple minutes before heading to my dressing room to talk to my original team. As soon as I open the door all I hear  is screaming and yelling coming from the moms.

"Why the hell did she get to dance with the ALDC." Kaylees mom yells in my moms face as she points to me in disgust.

When the girls notice me walk into the room they all roll their eyes and begin talking to each other. I walk over to my mom and she tries her best to defend me from the jealous parents in the room.

"First of all none of us even knew she was gonna dance with them and second of all you need to stop talking about my child like she isn't in the room." My mother snaps back making all the other mothers shut up and go back to their daughters.

I silently take my makeup off and take my hair out of the bun trying not to cry or show any emotion about what just happened between my mom and my best friends mom.

"Honey please explain to me what happened out there." My mom says as she starts to put things into my competition suitcase.

I turn around and explain everything to her while the other moms and girls try their hardest to listen into our conversation. After explaining the whole ordeal to my mom she does nothing but smiles and responds back with "that's my girl." Which makes me feel insanely proud of what happened.

I carefully take off the ALDC costume and put back on my central city dance wear. I make sure that all of my things were packed and ready to go and I go to take back the costume to Abby. Before I can make it out the door Abby comes in with Gianna, Maddie, And Brynn all following behind her. When the girls walk into the room all the moms sit up straight and stare at Abby with wide looks on their faces. I walk over to the girls and hug them and then walk up to Mrs.Abby to give her back the costume.

"Excuse me can I see Katie's mom and her teacher in the hallway for a moment please." Mrs.Abby says as she takes the costume from my hands.

My mom rises from her seat and sets down the makeup brushes she was carrying. We all make our way into the hallway with Abby and the girls and I can't help but wonder what it's all about.

"Okay first I would like to start off by saying thank you so much Katie for stepping in for this team and saving us from humiliation." Abby says to me with a huge smile on her face.

I smile back and nod my head feeling proud of myself and the choices I made. The area falls silent for a few minutes before my mother finally speaks up.

"So Abby what did you want to talk to us about." She says with a curious look on her face.

"Well I've talked it over with my assistant Gianna and even the girls and we have come to the conclusion that we would like to have Katie become apart of our competition team." Abby respond with a smile on her face.

As the words leave Abby's mouth I can't help but smile and feel happy. Not only did I get to dance with the ALDC but now Abby wanted me to join her team. My mom looks at me with a disbelieving face and then looks at Mrs.Fowler who looks proud as well.

"Abby that would be wonderful I'm sure Katie would love to join your team." My mom says looking at me.

I shake my head vigorously and smile not knowing what else to do.

"Well Mrs.Fowler how do you feel about letting Katie move on to my competition team." Abby says to my teacher who had been excluded from the conversation.

"I think that Katie would be perfect for you team and I would be honored to have on of my dancers on your team Abby." Mrs.Fowler says nicely and I can tell that she really means it.

Mrs.Abby, Mrs.Fowler, Gianna, And my mom talk business for a little while longer while I talk to Maddie and Brynn who are super happy to have me on their team.

"I can't believe your gonna be on our team after just one dance." Maddie says unbelievable to me with a happy face.

"I can't either this is like a dream come true." I respond in awe of everything that just happened between my mom Abby and Mrs.Fowler.

We all talk for a couple more  minutes until it's finally time to go back in dressing rooms and get ready for awards. As soon as I open the door to walk into the room my mom stops me saying that she wanted to have a talk with me before we told all the moms what's going on.

"Katie you do understand that not all of those mothers and girls will be happy for you right?" My mom questions me cautiously trying not to sound mean.

I shake my head indicating that I knew and spoke up.

"They will never be happy until their daughters are dancing with Abby but it's fine I know that I'm a good dancer and good person." I say confidently trying to show my mom that I didn't care about all the drama all I wanted to do was dance.

She simply nods her head as we walk inside of the room to find the team almost ready to go for awards. As soon as we walk into the room we are bombarded with questions and more yells coming from the moms. At this point me and my mother just simply ignore it because it doesn't matter anymore.

"Katie is getting special treatment like always." I hear one of the moms say under her breath and that's what send off Mrs.Fowler.

"If you think that I give any student special treatment you can leave my studio now because you women know fully well I love all your kids and would do anything for them so don't question my teaching and don't ever speak bad about a child in front of their faces you women act as if you have no class." Mrs.Fowler preaches to the moms who stand there looking flabbergasted.

By the time awards come I decided not to wear my jacket just Incase I have to get up with the ALDC team and claim the trophy even though I'm not on the team. As we walk down the hallway to go to the stage I hear whispers coming from behind me and I turn around to see the girls pointing and looking at me while talking to each other which only makes me feel worse about everything.
