a new girl joins the team right as everything is falling apart. Will she pull the team together or will they turn her world upside down.
Cathy led me and my mother down a hallway that led to a room filled with makeup outfits headpieces and so many other accessories for photos. She led me to a chair in front of a mirror on a white wall.
"Wait here Erin will be here in a second to start with hair and makeup." Cathy says to me as her and my mom walk out of the room talking about god knows what.
I pull out my phone from my pocket and start texting Maddie like always and scrolling through social media. I realize I hadn't posted in a while which led me to look through my pictures until I found one that was good enough to post. I choose a picture I took outside in my backyard when I had a sleepover with Kaylee, I was wearing a blue crop top and a pair of black jeans. I added a filter to the picture before posting it to my now 6034 followers.

I instantly get around hundred likes when the picture is posted making me stare in disbelief at the fact that so many people like me and follow me just because I danced with the ALDC. Erin finally walked in dressed in a black tank top, black ripped jeans, and a red and black flannel tied around her waist.
"Hey I'm Erin and you must be Katie." She says welcoming with a smile on her perfectly lipstick lined lips.
"Yeah I'm katie it's really nice to meet you" I say back turning off my phone and putting it in my lap.
She walks over to me and starts touching my hair a little bit putting it in different half up styles with her hands trying to see what would look good. After a couple seconds she stopped with my hair and got started with my makeup pulling out a face cleansing wipe. She presses on a leaver on the chair making me rise a bit so that she was able to wipe my face without leaning to far. I close my eyes as the wipe goes across my lids and over my nose and cheeks wiping away any signs of makeup that I failed to get off this morning.
She goes over to another station digging through a couple of bottles until she finds a medium tan shade of foundation that was brand new. She takes the MAC foundation and applies a little bit to the back of her palm before taking a clean new beauty blender and dabbing it into the product and then onto my face.
The whole ordeal last for about 30 minutes until she has finally done all of my makeup completed with a dark Smokey eye flawless foundation blinding highlight and dark defining lips, definitely something I couldn't do by myself. After making sure I liked the look she got started with my hair curling and teasing pieces as she went along and placing and hair spraying anything that needed to stay in a specific spot.
The hair didn't take as long because she didn't do anything special expect for curling it.
"Okay we're all done how do you like it?" She questions me.
"It's amazing I look so much more mature." I say in awe as I look at myself in the mirror.
She walks out to go find my mom and Cathy and I'm left again by myself in the large room. Like always I pull out my phone checking through the hundred of notifications that still surprise me on my social media accounts. I see kind comments from the girls and even a couple of their friends with shock me because I don't even really know them that well. Of course a couple people are hating and saying I'm not a good dancer but I just ignore because most of it is just stupid. As I scroll a comment catches my eye and it makes me feel really bad. "Katie your such a disgusting person and a horrible friend leaving your dance team like that in the middle of the season just because Abby offered you a "spot" on her overrated team" I look at the username over and over again which seems really familiar.
Just as I start to remember my mom walks in with Cathy and Erin who look very proud of my hair and makeup.
"Oh honey you look so beautiful." My mom says over dramatically as if she is about to cry.
I just smile and look at myself in the mirror feeling really good about the look that Erin did.
"Okay it's time for those pictures Katie." Cathy says enthusiastically clapping her hands.
I get out of the chair grabbing my phone and wheeling out the suitcase my mom brought with various outfits and costumes. Cathy searches through the items we brought trying to decided with one went with my makeup. She finally decided on a maroon colored laced shirt and a black skirt with maroon and black flats. She sits me on a little stool and makes me do various poses. I do duck lips with my eyes winking, I do a couple with me just smiling, I make a flirty face and light up my eyes, and countless other poses with were really fun.
Before I know it, it's been three hours and we're done with the photoshoot which I was really sad about because it was super fun and I never really get to do things like that with central city dance. Cathy prints out the pictures and they look even better than I imagined then to look. We put them inside a folder that holds all my contact information for business and job opportunity and thank Cathy before paying her.
After leaving the photography place we headed to my school to talk to my principal who was able to set up a weekend meeting with us. Since I would be gone for up to three weeks I would have to get my school work and other things set up with the homeschool teacher who works with all the girls on the ALDC team. It's about a 20 minute drive to the school and the ride is filled with silence expect for the faint sound coming from the radio which was turned down to 4.
We pulled into the deserted parking lot which is usually filled with parents in their mini vans and buses filled with annoyed bus drives and rowdy kids. We begin walking to the front door before light pulling on the blue and silver door which led to the hallway next to the office. We walked straight to the office before knocking on the principals door letting him know that we had arrive. From inside I hear a faint "come in" as my mom cracks the door open.
"Good afternoon Mr.Hynes thank you for meeting with us on such short notice." My mom says shaking my principals hand before sitting down in a cushioned chair.
"No problem Mrs.Cohen I'm very glad we could work this into both our agendas." He replies before settling back down into his seat.
My mom and Mr.Hynes begin talking about how I'm doing in school which has always been the same straight A's. Because of dance I really try to get my work done so my mom doesn't take me off the team. I block out what they were saying as I look around the room noticing the pictures of family and little football decals all over the room. I'd only been in this office one time and that was because I saw a fight happen in the girls bathroom during third period, but even then I was terrified to be there. Something about the room gave me weird vibes and I was so happy that the meeting was almost over.
They discussed the plan to send over my work with my books and contact information in case the teacher in LA had any questions on what we were learning. My mom and I said our goodbyes before leaving the awfully decorated office and going back to the car.
