Gee did get back at Frank. Not only did the red team win laser tag on Frank's 8th birthday but Gerard made them official on Frank's 14th, asking the short Italian to be his boyfriend before giving him a candy ring and promising one day he'd give the brunette a real one.

Now, at Frank's 19th, Gerard was pacing the spare bedroom, going over the plan for another one of his infamous birthday surprises. Not that Frank had any idea as he pushed through his crowded hallway, punk music pounding in his ears and alcohol swirling in his veins, quite possibly the reason he didn't even consider the possibility that Gerard would be upstairs. Not that he was drunk though, in fact, compared to most people at the halloween themed party he was positively sober and desperate to find his boyfriend. Hey, Gerard Way isn't the only person who can plan cool shit to do on Frank's birthday.

"Gee?!" The kitchen was slightly clearer than the rest of the suburban home but Frank still couldn't find his favourite redhead. He was far too close to Pete and Mikey making out against the wall but there was no way he was giving up on his Gerard hunt.

"Fr'nk!" A slurred version of the brunette's name filled the room as Brendon arrived in the doorway. "Ger'd's looking for you." Frank rolled his eyes as Brendon hiccuped out his sentence. "Bu' he said you gotta put this on." The taller boy threw a black blindfold at Frank, laughing at the confused look on the shorter's face.

"What the fuck, Urie?" Brendon just shrugged, laughing quietly as he stumbled back into the hallway. "So I just put this shit on and wait for someone to fucking touch me up?!" Brendon's laughter got louder as Frank shouted into the hall.

"Just put it on, Iero!" Frank growled, flipping the blindfold over and letting his eyes scan it. He eventually sighed, slipping the mask over his eyes, grumbling something about messing his hair up as he frowned.

A hand on Frank's shoulder caused the teen to squeak and tense up before Pete Wentz's signature giggle filled his ears. Frank rolled his eyes behind the black fabric and sighed inwardly. He seemed to be doing that a lot lately.

"Come on, Frank, Gerard's waiting." The mention of his boyfriend's name had the corner of Frank's mouth lifting slightly.

"Only doing this for you, baby." He mumbled under his breath and Pete smiled, trying his hardest not to 'aw' at the short Italian. It was obvious Gerard meant the world to Frank and the pair just radiated happiness whenever they were together. In all honesty, Pete was kinda jealous.

"You ready?"

"No." Frank chuckled, holding onto Pete's elbow as the bleached blonde teen lead him through his house. He thought he was in the backyard but at this point he really couldn't be sure. "Can I take this fucking thing off yet?" Pete let go of Frank's arm and walked back into the house, leaving the couple alone in the yard and totally not watching them through the window.

"Sure thing, sugar." Frank grinned, pulling the blindfold off as fast as he could, desperate to see his baby again. He's not obsessed, Gee's just pretty.

"Hey, babygirl." Gerard blushed, letting Frank pull him into his arms. "You made my yard all pretty?" Fairy lights were draped between trees and rose petals covered the small grass patch the couple were stood on. Gee nodded, pulling back from Frank's embrace. He took a deep breath and locked eyes with his boyfriend.

"I gotta ask you a question." Frank hummed, his eyebrows furrowed. "You remember when you turned 14 and I gave you that candy ring?"

"Like it was yesterday" The Italian smiled.

"Well I don't break promises." Gerard smiled, reaching into his back pocket. "D'you wanna get married?" He pulled a gold band from the pocket and held it out to the brunette.

Frank stayed silent, eyes flicking between the ring and his boyfriend. Gee's eyes started watering. This wasn't how it was supposed to go, Frank was supposed to say yes straight away and cry and sweep Gee into his arms and call him babygirl.

"You dick." Frank deadpanned, pulling a thin gold band with a small diamond in the centre of it out from his own back pocket. "I was supposed to ask that question." Gerard let the tears fall, a breathy laugh escaping his lips. He pulled Frank into a tight hug, his head in the crook of his boyfriend's neck.

"You scared the shit out of me." Gee cried, holding tight onto the back of Frank's hoodie. The small Italian chuckled, pressing a kiss to the side of his baby's head, his forehead resting on top of Gerard's dyed red hair.

"So? Is that a yes?" Frank mumbled, his mouth still against Gee's head.

"Yes, you big fucking idiot." Gerard laughed, letting Frank pull away just enough to slip the ring onto his finger. He grabbed his fiancé's tattooed hand and smiled, placing the plain band on his finger. "I'm sure this is meant to be the other way round. I'm the one who promised you the pretty ring." Frank laughed, interlocking their fingers and gazing at their rings.

"I think this is perfect just the way it is." The Italian smiled, momentarily lifting his gaze from their hands in order to peck Gee's lips.

"I love you, sugar."

"I'm in love with you, babygirl."
