Did someone say double update ??
I hate myself for not hating Taylor Swift
Loosely based off the song up top
(you belong with me - for all those sleeping cover)
Like super loosely tho, like only slight references
⭐️Josh groaned as a loud ringing pulled him out of his dream. He reached around for it blindly in the dark of his bedroom, attempting not to knock anything over in the process. He didn't even bother checking the caller ID as he accepted the call and pressed the device to his ear.
"Hello?"
"J-Josh? Can you pick me up?" Tyler. The patter of rain against the bedroom window made it's presence known as Josh debated how to answer.
"Where are you?" He sighed, moving so he was sitting on the edge of his bed. He stumbled around in the dark, pulling on a dirty pair of jeans and a random t-shirt from his floor.
"Corner of North."
"Be there in 10."
"Thank you. I'm sorry." Tyler's voice cracked as he tried his hardest not to cry. Josh sighed and hung up on his best friend, slipping on his Toms and heading towards the door, almost tripping over his desk chair on his way.
He grabbed his keys from their place next to the door and heading out to his car. He fiddled with the radio, Green Day making it's way through the speakers. He pulled out of the driveway, hoping the sound of the engine wouldn't wake up his neighbours; but then again, he was doing this for Tyler, so he didn't really give a shit.
The streets were practically empty, the orange glow of streetlights creating a haze in the night sky. Tyler's small figure caught Josh's eye as he rounded another corner, pulling up to the side of the road so he could sit shotgun.
"Couldn't your boyfriend have been a dick any earlier in the evening?" The flashing lights on the console told Josh it was nearing midnight. He sighed. "What happened?" Josh got straight to the point as he pulled back onto the road. But that was all Tyler needed to crumble.
"He kicked me out again."
"Fucking idiot." Josh mumbled shooting Tyler a slight smile. But it faded as soon as Tyler looked up, his face showing nothing but hurt.
"It was my fault." His head dropped again, resting on his knees.
"Ty,"
"No. Don't do this again! It's my fault that he had to go to Dallon, I'm just not good enough, he deserves better." Tyler cut him off with his sudden outburst.
"He cheated on you." Josh spat, disgust lacing with his words, because Tyler Joseph deserved better than some scum like Brendon Urie. "That's fucking horrid."
"Please don't," Tyler sighed, turning the radio up.
"Mr. Perfect not let you listen to decent music?"
"He likes Frank Sinatra." Josh snorted, shaking his head as he pulled up to his house.
"Guest room." He pushed open the front door, chucking his keys to the side.
"Josh,"
"No. Not this time! It hurts me, Tyler. Every time you go back to him." Tyler didn't move, staying leaning against the door frame. "I'm going to bed." Josh scoffed, walking upstairs and leaving the younger boy to do whatever he wished. Tyler wrapped his arms around himself, sobbing slightly as he made his way to the guest bedroom. His heart ached, calling him to just curl up next to Josh like they used to when he and Brendon had arguments when things weren't so serious between the problematic couple. But this was serious; yes, Brendon had been, and probably still was, fucking Dallon behind Tyler's back, but Tyler loved him; he couldn't just pretend Brendon and his relationship didn't exist so he could get the attention he craved from Josh. So instead he pushed the thoughts away, curling up under the light blue sheets of Josh's spare bed and drifting off into a dreamless sleep.

"Do you have some like, paracetamol or something?" Tyler groaned, slumping onto the chair next to Josh's.
"Good morning to you too, beautiful. Paracetamol second draw down, coffee on the side." Tyler nodded, heading out to the kitchen to grab the items.
"Why did you make me coffee?"
"'Cause you have coffee every morning with a bowl of Cap'n Crunch or Frosted Flakes but I only have Reese's Puffs and I know you don't like them." Josh shrugged, eating another spoonful of cereal. Tyler nodded, returning to his place at the table.
"I'm sorry. About last night."
"Don't sweat it dude, but if you're gonna come to me every time you have a fight with that douche I've gotta learn to say no to you." Tyler nodded, letting his head rest on the palm of his hand as his eyes welled with tears.
"I can't stay with him when all I want is you, can I?"
"Ty..."
"We've done the falling in love bit, we did that in high school. I've just gotta learn to accept it." He sighed, gazing into his half empty cup. "I don't really love him, do I?"
"I don't know, Ty, but you can't let him keep treating you like shit."
"You're right, fuck him, he can go off and sleep with whoever the fuck he wants, but he doesn't get me!" Josh chuckled, looking across at Tyler with nothing but pure love in his eyes. Tyler was right; they had fallen in love in high school, neither of them really accepting it though in fear of ruining their friendship. But perhaps now everything would be different, maybe Tyler would finally come to his senses and realise that Josh was all he ever really wanted.
