I followed Selena to the corner of the room. She started staring at the ground again, as weird as it is. A couple minutes later, the portal appeared, it's blue, black hole causing an outrageous wind.

Selena looked at me, her face void of emotions. "Here! Take this!" She yelled, giving me a dagger about the size of my foot. I took it, hesitantly noticing the sharpness of it. I looked up at her, confused. Why she would give me such a dangerous weapon was beyond me.

"I know you're scared, but you have the heart of a warrior, Wendelyn, whether you know it or not. If the Queen hears of your arrival, she is bound to send her minions after you. This will protect you. It's enchanted, so one cut or wound from it will kill the victim instantly. Okay?" She explained.

When she said minions I instantly thought of the cute, funny little yellow guys from Despicable Me, but I assume that's not what she mean't. She expects me to use this to inflict pain, then sudden death, on someone...Thats a little brutal, don't you think?

I nodded, putting it in the sheath on the belt she just made on me.

"Remember, find the jewel. That's all you have to worry about at the moment. Now, Wendelyn, you are going to find stuff out about yourself that you never knew and go on adventures you never thought you'd experience, but make sure you put your trust in the right people." She said.

I nodded again.

"You ready?"

I looked back one last time. Riel, Cindney, and Bella looked like they actually would have a heart attack, they all looked worried. But the Head Master, of course, was just smiling and sipping that stupid cup of tea. Gosh, I sure am not going to miss him. I turned back around to face the endless void in front of me.

"Ready!" I said, trying to sound brave but ending up just croaking it out.

"Then, I'll see you when you get back. Good luck!" She said.

I, then, closed my eyes and jumped, I was not going to let Selena push me this time around.

For another eternity of minutes, I felt nothing. This time I didn't scream nor did I flail around crazy. I was actually calm as I fell though the portal.

When my feet landed on ground, I opened my eyes. I was in a clearing, in the woods. I looked behind me, to my left and right, and found that I was literally all alone in the middle of woods. Just nature and me. No towns, no smoke, no nothing but trees and bushes.

Great! I'm in the middle of no where, with no idea which direction to go. I mean, how could the map even help me if I didn't know where I was. I sighed, biting my lip. This situation just got worse....

I looked up. The sky was a nice, beautiful blue and it seemed like it was still early in the morning, as the sun was still low in the sky. I noticed dark clouds off in the distance near some mountains on the horizon. My guess was that those clouds would be here by night fall, so I had to either make shelter eventually or find shelter.

I looked to my right. If I were to find this jewel, I can't just stay here. I got to start walking into the forest that surrounds me, whether I like it or not.

I swallowed my pride of never hiking and starting walking to my right. Selena was right. I never thought I would hike in a forest before, especially a forest in a land where fairy tales exist and I could potentially die trying to retrieve a jewel that I have no idea where to find. Yeah...I feel like such a warrior now, Selena...
