Peaceful. Thats the word I would use to describe how I feel right now. I didn't know where I was or who was with me, but i felt absolutely calm. I shouldn't be, but I am. I felt a slight wind ruffle my hair, bringing the smell of salt and the ocean. If this was a movie, this would be the part where nice yoga music would play and everyone would feel totally relaxed.
"Peter, you're sure she's not dead?"
Once I heard those words, I remembered everything: Portal, creepy Head Master, Peter Pan, creepy Baytown, Peter making Tink bite me. I opened my eyes, determined to give Peter a piece of my mind, but instead of Peter being in front of me like he usually is when I get bit, I see a little boy with round brown eyes staring at me.
Wide eyed, I sat up, making the boy back up in surprise. I noticed that he was wearing a skunk skin hat and he seemed to be about five or six years old. He was cute, except for the fact that I have no idea who he is or where I am. I was about to scream for Peter, when two heads appeared out of no where from above me. I was officially freaking out.
" Tootles, she don't look dead, does she?" The one on the left said, smirking.
"Oh, shut up, will ya, Sneezy?" The one on the right retorted, looking over at the other boy. After he said that, the boy on the left let out a huge sneeze. I blinked rapidly, hoping none of his spit got in my eyes. Rightie started laughing, then Leftie, angry, hit him smack dab in the face. Shocked, Rightie hit him back and on and on it went, both boys punching each other.
I just sat there, flabbergasted, watching these two boys beat each other up. While they were fighting, I realized they were twins. Both with light brown hair and brown eyes, wearing raccoon skins. Great, now a set of twins are fighting right in front of my face. What on earth do I do?!?
"Guys, settle down! I think you're freaking her out." Came a familiar voice. My face imediately lightened when I saw Peter standing with his arms crossed over me. Peter grabbed the two boys from where they were hanging upside down and dropped them on the ground. They both let out a groan and stood up.
Peter, then turned his attention to me. He smiled. "Well, well, well. Look who decided to wake up?"
Tink flew up to me from her usual place on Peter's shoulders and started messing with my face. She looked into my eye, poking it, opened my mouth, flew to my ear and tugged on it. Before she had the chance to pull my hair, Peter grabbed her.
"Tink, I'm sure she's fine. She doesnt seem to be sick or anything." He said, trying to sound reassuring to Tink. She just shook her head and crossed her arms.
Confused, I just stared at Peter, gettting mesmerized by his green eyes. "Sorry 'bout that, Wendy. You see, Tink was concerned you'd be like poisoned permanently or something due to the fact that you got bitten three times in under 24 hours...she was just worried, I guessed." He explained.
So he's saying that I should be dead or something... he's really reassuring. I just nodded, not knowing how to respond to that information.
His eyes widened, looking behind me. "Wow....I see you're the child of the Element of nature..." He said, awestruck.
Even more confused, I looked behind me. I gasped. Leaves and vines were everywhere on the wall behind me and they seemed to have been what I was sleeping on. BIg, thick, green vines were wrapped around the used-to-be-bed that I was on. Flowers of white and gold grew in some places but that was about it. Could this moment get any freakier?
I turned around at the sound of Peter chuckling. "Well, now we know what Element you are, huh?"
I guess being the child of the Element of nature would explain why I woke up to grass and flowers at the cave and why moss grew on the rock I sat on. Gosh, this is all a little mind-blowing...but I'm trying my best to look like this is all normal. On the outside, I look shocked but calm, on the inside, I'm screaming and am in the fetal position, crying.
"Peter! Peter! Peter!" A blonde kid wearing a fox-like outfit came running in through a door. He looked panic but when he saw the wall behind me, he stopped right in his tracks. "Whoa..." He mumbled.
Peter turned around. "Slightly, what is it?" He asked.
The kid, who I guess is called Slightly, looks from the wall to Peter. "Oh! Um...Nibs and Cubby got food for tonight! They stole some bread from the baker's and caught a chicken, too!" He said, a smile plastered on his face.
Peter smiled. "Great! Can you bring them in here? I want them to meet somebody."
Slightly nods, then runs back out the door. Peter turned back to me, still smiling. "So, how ya feeling?" He asked, sounding genuinely concerned.
Finally deciding to speak, I said, "I am beyond confused, freaked out, and...thirsty." My throat was sore and I just now realized that a glass of water sounds really good.
He just nodded. "I'll get you somethin' to drink in a minute, first I got to introduce you to my friends." As he said that, Slightly came back with two other boys. One was really chubby with a bear skin shirt and cap, the other was really scrawny with bunny ears on his hood. They, honestly, looked nothing alike.
When they both saw me, then the wall, they stopped too. They look like freaks to me and I look like a freak to them, that works out perfectly. Peter walked casually over to them and put one hand behind each of their backs, pushing them forward.
"Guys, this is Wendy. Wendy, this is Slightly," -he gestures to the fox kid- "Nibs," -he nods at the dude in the rabbit outift- "Cubby," -he nods at the chubby kid- "Tootles," -he gestures to the cute little boy who woke me up- "and those are The Twins." He points at the two boys in raccoon clothes. "We call them Happy and Sneezy sometimes, just to seperate them from each other."
They all stared at me, dumbfounded. Awkwardly, i smiled. "Uh...hi?" I said. I counted seven in all, including Peter, since they seemed like a team or something. Gosh, this was weird. All the boys seemed very young, the oldest at the least seemed thirteen and that was Slightly.
Slightly was the first to speak. "She's a child of the Elements? I thought that was just a legend..." He said.
Peter shrugged. "Well, I guess, it's more of a prophecy." I just glared at him for using my exact words. He just smiled his cocky smile. Ugh, I hate him.
Peter, then, clapped, bringing all the boys out of their daze. "How about we get to know Wendy over some dinner, guys? Wendy must be really hungry from our flight here."
All of the boys smiled, and ran out the door, hooting and hollaring. Oh my gosh, I can't live with these animals. Peter and I just stared at each other, him smiling and me angry.
"C'mon, Wendy. I know your thirsty. Why don't we go get your drink? And....some food?"
I sighed. I guess, there wasn't anything else that I could do at the moment. I lazily got up from the vine covered bed and followed Peter out the door. So these were the so called lost boys....wow....
