Chapter 5

The next day Markel saw Imani at her locker. She was looking around trying to find Jayden. Markel walked upon her said, "Imani?" She turned around and said, "Hey Kel?" He said, "So I was wondering-" and she cut me off and said, "My answer is no."

He said, "You didn't even let me finish." She was looking around, and said, "Okay. What?" He asked her if she wanted to go to lunch with him, and she still was not paying any attention him. "Uhh, yeah, sure whatever." she said. He asked, "Who are you looking for?"

She said, "Jay." He asked, "Jayden? When did y'all start hanging out?" She said, "We not hanging we just-" and he cut her off and asked, "Dating?" She said, "What!? No!" He said, "You shouldn't be hanging out with him."

She asked, "Why?" He said, "He's dangerous, and a gangbanger." She said, "Yeah right." He said, "I can prove it." She looked at him like he was crazy.

A few minutes later, Markel and Imani were in the car. Markel was driving while Imani was sitting in the passenger seat. Markel drove to the trap house where Jayden always be at. When they got there, he stopped the car where no one could see them. She asked, "What is this place?"

He said, "This is where drug dealers, hoes, and whoever want drugs come to. This is a trap house." She looked around and said, "Okay, but I don't see-" and then she stopped talking when see saw Jayden. Jayden pulled his gun out and shot someone in there arm and yelled, "Where my money at!?" Imani looked scared and said, "Drive Markel!" He drove off and said, "Now you see why I don't want-" and she cut him off and said, "But, he said he got me."

Markel asked, "Can you just stop talking to him? It's just for your safety." She ignores him and looked out the window. He asked, "So where do you want me to take you?" She said, "Back to school." He got an attitude and asked, "Why?"

"Jayden picking-" he cut her off and yelled, "No! No!" She yelled back, "Markel take me back to the school! You're not my nigga, so stop telling me what to do and who to hang out with! I have to pretend I didn't see him and that I've been at school, okay?!" He rolled his eyes and shook his head. He pulled up to the school.

She mumbled, "Thanks." She got out the car. He was mad and said, "Whatever. When he kills your ass don't say anything." He drove off. Imani rolled my eyes and Jayden pulled up to the school.

He said, "Hey Monibaby." She got in the car and said, "Hi." She put her seatbelt, and he asked her, "What's wrong?" She was looking down and she cleared her throat, and said, "Nothing." He turned up his music and pulled off from the school. Imani looked out the window and was deep into her thoughts about tonight was going to be a long night.

When they got into the house and settled in Jayden began cooking. Imani walked into the kitchen and asked, "Can we talk?" He said, "Yeah of course." She sat at the table and asked, "Why you didn't come to school?" He lied and said, "Sorry. I got caught up at work."

She said, "You never told me where you work at." He was stirring the spaghetti, and said, "I work in a shop." She said, "A trap house shop right?" He stopped stirring the spaghetti and said, "You know don't you?" She asked, "So it's true. You are a drug lord?"

He turned around and said, "Yeah." She got a little tensed and said, "Why you didn't tell me?" He walked up to her and she said, "Stop. Please don't come any closer to me." He could tell she was scared. He said, "That's why I didn't want to tell you. I knew you were gone be scared of me again. I'm sorry I didn't tell you though I just didn't want you to be scared of me."

She said, "Well I am scared." He said, "I'm not going to hurt though." She said, "That's not the point you lied to me." He said, "I'm sorry." She stood up, and said, "I have to go."
