VALKA'S POV

I remember the night I died, well not really died but I'm sure you get the point. It had started with a raid, same as usual. My first raid, to be exact. My brother decided it was time I did what the other dragons did. I never even saw it coming. The axe appeared out of nowhere. It hit me just above the windpipe. I knew the second I hit the ground it was over. I woke up different. I woke up human. It's a weird feeling the first time you're a human. No wings, no claws or sharp teeth. Skin feels weird for the first time. It's not like scales. It's smooth and soft. I woke up inside a small hut. I'm pretty sure the Vikings there knew what happened when they kill a dragon. An old woman had stood before me. She was small and carried a staff. My neck hurt where the axe had hit me. When I exited the hut at the time I wasn't sure what to do. People were different from dragons.

That's how it all began. I never saw my brother after that night. I don't even know if he is still alive. I ended up marrying the village's chief. Stoick. He's the love of my life. No matter how different I was from the other vikings he was always there for me. Not long after our marriage I had become pregnant. With twins in fact. The whole village had prepared for the birth of the chief's heirs. Yet things don't always end up like we want them to. They were born too soon, on a winter night. Snow blew harshly. The worst night of my life. Born two months early the two of them ended up dying in my arms. Me and Stoick ended up having a small ship built for them and burning it out at sea.

As far as I know they both should have become baby dragons. What kind? I have no idea. They likely roam the skies together. If at all. My Hiccup and Toothless. Heirs to Berk. If only they were here now. I'm sure they would make me and Stoick so proud. I always wonder where they are.
