Anger filled me as I see Berk. They took Hiccup, they killed Hiccup. My mind was racing. What if Hiccup sided with them? What if he was a dragon killer now? That's what I am afraid of. Fear that my own brother will now be my demise. It's a scary thing to think about.
The flock of us wasn't particularly big. Less targets. I just hope and pray that none of us are taken down tonight. I luckily blend in really well so I don't think I'll have a problem staying safe, but you never know.
"Ready?" Cloudjumper asks me.
I gulp. "Ready as I'll ever be."
Cloudjumper lets out a loud roar to the flock. The flock roars back in response before diving right towards Berk. I hover for a moment before following. I haven't been on a raid in forever. Me and Hiccup would normally stay out of the violence. Instead we would go for a flight above the clouds. I can't do that anymore.
Excitement and fear filled the air. I fire at their biggest building. It's made of rock and some wood. I double back and scan the ground of vikings. They ran around grabbing weapons. If I didn't hate them for what they did to Hiccup i might have laughed. They ran around like headless chickens. Yet there were two that weren't doing anything. Just standing there. I stare at them trying to see them better from this altitude.
Catapults begin to fire into the air. I spin in the air to avoid one, losing sight of the two actionless Vikings. They must have left. I turn when I hear a strangled roar. One of our own, a deadly nadder fell the to ground. Without second thought I fly towards them to blast the net and free them. I hover above the downed nadder. A boy was cutting at the ropes around it. I fire down at the net for a quicker escape. The boy stares at me.
"Toothless!"
My eyes widen. It was Hiccup. I couldn't grasp the fact that he was human. I just stared. How badly I wanted to land and hug him or take him with me yet I knew it was frowned upon. To take a human back with us was considered treason and if I landed on the island I'd be killed. I couldn't stay here. I had to rejoin the other dragons. I leave him there, staring after me as I fly away towards the other dragons. If I'm being honest, tears filled my eyes. It hurt to see Hiccup human. No wings, no scales. It was odd.
My ears perk as I hear someone yell. "Fire! Night fury!"
My breathing quickens. They know I'm here now. Took them long enough. I dodge a few nets and bolas that are fired towards my direction. I don't think they can see me very well.
I will not be human, not today, not ever.
