Rapid knocking at my door woke me up the next morning. I groggily rose from the bed and threw on a shirt before treading downstairs. By the time I reached the door, the knocking only grew louder. "Okay I'm here!" I yelled out grumpily, upset that whoever was on the other side of the door had decided to wake me up from my slumber. I swung the door open probably more forcefully than I should have and came face to face with a worried looking Dinah. "What's wrong?" I questioned as the slightly taller girl entered my house.

"Y/N went missing." Dinah spoke quietly. I completely froze in my spot, unable to move or even talk. All I could do was watch Dinah as she began to pace in the living room. "Her and Daniel got into a fight last night and she left but no one thought she would leave the town again. She's nowhere here so she has to be gone." Dinah ran her hands through her hair in frustration. "I looked to where we got out yesterday and she didn't even bother to put the plank back. We can't find her. She's out there with no protection."

"Hold up, she left and no one followed her?!" I was finally able to form a coherent thought as I shut the front door to join Dinah in the living room. Once she shook her head in sadness, I rushed up the stairs and started packing my weapons and anything that would be necessary when I would find her. If I found her. I heard Dinah rushing up the stairs behind me before questions started spilling out of her mouth left and right. I paid no mind to what she was saying, my mind was solely focused on getting out of here as fast I could so I could find Y/N. I had no idea that's where she ran off after her fight with Daniel, but I felt stupid for not doing anything about it now.

"Lauren what the hell are you doing?" Dinah's voice finally entered my ears which caught my attention. I slowed down on packing my things but I didn't stop. I knew I needed to get out of here as fast as possible, especially since Y/N's life was on the line. "You're not going out there, are you? You're crazy! We have no idea where she would possibly be. This is a suicide mission if you're going out there by yourself." Dinah kept rambling on but again, I didn't pay any mind. I was just worried about Y/N at the moment and if she was okay. I couldn't lose another person, even if I could have prevented it in the first place.

"Look, I know what I'm doing. I have to fix this." I spoke before throwing my tattered backpack over my shoulders. I made sure my handgun was loaded before placing that and my knife in my belt. Dinah was right on my heels as I made my way back downstairs, reprimanding me for my decisions and continuing to ramble on about how dangerous this was. "I appreciate you looking out for me but I have to do this by myself. I can't put anyone else's life at risk." I walked out of the house as Dinah closed the door behind us.

"Lauren you're absolutely fucking crazy but you better come back with my girl. Daniel's about to send a search party out for her so get her back before that happens." The taller girl patted my shoulder before leaving me to head back out into the world outside the borders of the town. I ran in the same direction the four of us had traveled the previous night, having an idea of where Y/N was going. She obviously didn't finish getting all the supplies she had wanted so I figured the hospital was the first place she'd try to return to, even though there was a huge amount of trouble there. It was then that Dinah's words rung in my head, and I decided I couldn't bring back her girl; Y/N was my girl now.

By the time I followed the whole trail back to the broken down hospital, I had to have dealt with twice the amount of zombies than the first night. I don't know how Y/N managed to get past them, if she even managed to do so. I knew I couldn't think that way though. She had to have made it out. I just don't understand why she thought she had to leave. I mean if her friend was doing so horrible, she should have told someone. Then again I don't think Daniel was one to really allow her to do anything, that's why we had to leave in the first place. But if it was going to make her act this irrationally, then something had to change between them. I couldn't bear to see anything bad happen to Y/N. I had this massive crush on her already and I don't think I would be mentally capable of losing another person I cared about. I had lost too many already, and I was trying my best to make sure nothing else happened.
