Since Daniel and Y/N and begun talking to one another animatedly, I decided to slip out of the room to allow them to have their own time. I wanted to head back to my small house so that I was able to change and clean up for a bit. I wanted to go back to make sure Y/N was still okay but I wanted to make sure the father and daughter were able to say what they needed to say to one another. There was a lot they had to talk about, and I was sure Daniel wasn't going to let the shorter girl rest until he had the answers he needed and wanted. Eventually I made the walk to my house but I stopped once I heard Dinah's voice sound behind me. "I'm so glad you made it okay." She wrapped her arms around my waist in a hug.

I smiled to myself and reciprocated the hug before I let her enter my home with me. "Yeah, it was pretty rough. I'm sure Daniel came to tell you what happened?" I asked as I started taking all of my gear off. I looked over to see Dinah nod sadly. She did, however, have a small smile on her face as I finished taking off what I had on me. A couple of knives and handguns laid on the table where I set them in case I needed them and also because it the majority of it was what I usually bring with me on runs. Dinah scanned the table with a small chuckle before she looked back up into my eyes.

"He did, and I'm just glad she's still alive. I really appreciate you putting your life on the line for her, it really means a lot to many people. We were really scared, and Normani and I are just happy that Y/N didn't come out worse than what she got. She would've died if it weren't for you." Dinah exclaimed as I leaned against the counter. There was an overwhelming amount of pride that surged though me at Dinah's words. It was also a scary thought to realize that Y/N probably would've lost her life if I had gotten there any later. Those men weren't going to stop at anything to get what they wanted, and even then, they achieved some type of goal by hurting Y/N. They wanted to get at Daniel, and they surely made a dent.

"I would do anything for you guys." I lightly knocked on the counter in front of me bashfully as I looked down at my hands. It was true, I would've done anything for these girls because they welcomed me with nothing but love. With Y/N, it was obviously because I was developing a huge crush on her but the other girls were becoming my family. I knew they'd do the same for me if that time ever came. Suddenly I felt the wind knocked out of me as Dinah brought me in for another tight hug. She was squeezing the life out of me but I couldn't help but chuckle at her playful antics. "Where is Normani, anyways?" I asked once Dinah finally pulled away from the hug. She shrugged her shoulders before going to make herself comfortable on one of the couches in the living room like she always does.

"I think she's helping out her family or something." Dinah commented while looking at her nails. I snorted to myself at the sight since she was so nonchalant but I decided to leave it alone. I went to lay on the opposite couch since I was finally able to relax for a minute or two. For the last twenty four hours or so, I was completely on guard since I was trying to find Y/N, and there was no time to breathe like at all. I didn't realize how fast that time had flown by until looking back at it now. So much had happened, and I learned so much about what could possibly happen to us if we weren't careful about protecting this town. We currently had a bigger enemy than the zombies and we needed to be on our best game if we even want a chance at survival.

Eventually after enough silence, I stood up from my spot which caught the taller girl's attention. I stretched out my limbs with a yawn. "I'm going to wash myself off for a while and maybe lay down. You're welcome to stay if you want, I'll just be upstairs." I informed Dinah. She nodded her head but made no move to get up so I took that as a sign that she was going to stay at least for a little while. I headed upstairs after grabbing my weapons. There was a bathroom connected to my room where the shower was, but of course it didn't work. I undressed myself once I put my weapons away before I walked into the bathroom and into the shower. There was a bucket of water used just for bathing. I grabbed a cup to pour the water over me as I washed myself off, using some products I had found over the years.
