Cameron's POV

After eating our dinner, Emma and I started to get ready for the party.

We went into my room and she took a seat on my bed.

"Do you really want me to come with you? I don't want to get in the way or anything." She said looking down into her lap.

I looked towards her, confused as to why she's thinking this way.

"Yes, of course I want you to come with me. It's also a good way for you to meet people." I tell her.

"Cameron, I've never even been to a party. It'll be awkward." She pouts.

I chuckled at her behavior. She's so nervous and I can tell. But what kind of friend would I be if I didn't push her to do these things?

"It'll be alright, Emma." I assure her. "I'll be by your side throughout everything. I promise."

"Okay." She smiles, feeling a little better about going out.

I could tell she was relieved.

"Well I'm going to go change. That is, if I have anything to wear."

She proceeds to get up and leave the room without another word.

I honestly forgot that all she came with was a duffle bag and I'm sure she doesn't have many clothes in there. I'll have to ask my aunt to take her shopping soon.

I start to get ready, doing simple things like fixing my hair and changing into a better shirt. I grabbed my cologne to spray some on and while doing so, I heard a knock at my door.

"Come in." I call out, placing my cologne back onto my dresser.

Emma stepped into the room with a new outfit on.  A simple gray shirt with jeans and converses.

I smile as our eyes meet.

"Ready?" I ask.

She quickly nods her head, giving off a small smile.

"Alright. Let's go."

We both walk out my rooms door and make our way downstairs.

My aunt is nowhere in sight so I'm assuming she's showering or something.

We leave out the house and I walked with her right beside me as I led the way to Craig's house.

It's quite a short walk so we got there within a matter of minutes.

When we got there, we opened the already unlocked door to hear music playing and the strong smell of cigarettes. There was a crowd of people in the living room but less people in the areas near it.

I grabbed Emma's hand by instinct, not wanting her to get lost in this sea of people.

"Just stay with me and you'll be okay." I assured her once again as we walked inside.

She smiled and nodded, suddenly seeming better about the idea of this party.

I soon spot Craig talking with some boys that looked about our age. I didn't recognize any of them so I didn't bother going up to him.

In his kitchen he had the table filled with an assortment of sodas and drinks.

I looked over and saw Craig's sister, Ashley sitting at the table on her phone.
