Chapter 24

PREVIOUSLY
Emma had made a mistake by staying with Tyler. she ran away from him and got lost, causing her mother to find her and take her home. Cameron decided to go to Arizona to talk to Emma since he missed her and felt they should have ended on better terms.

Cameron's POV

After driving for some time I decided to stop. I was somewhere in Arizona. I just really didn't know where but I was close to Emma. It was pretty late in the afternoon and the sun was setting a bit

Its crazy. I'm some random boy who let her live with me for some time. And now she's gone and I feel like I can't cope without her by my side. Its killing me, honestly

I stopped at a gas station and parked at a spot. I grabbed my keys out of the car and walked Into the mini mart

The doors bell rang as I walked inside

"Hello how can I help you sir?" I middle aged woman asked me as I came inside

I walked to where she was, a long desk separating us

"I would like to buy gas. 2 gallons. Station number 4 I believe " I told her grabbing money out of my wallet

"Alright sir. That'll be $10" she said smiling

I handed her my money and smiled

"Thank you." She handed me my change

I walked around the store a bit and picked up some food. 2 bags of Chips, donuts, and 3 bottles of water. Not to healthy but hey, a guys gotta eat

I paid for those as well and started leave the store until I turned back around.

"Excuse me do you know where the " Valley Ridge" part of Arizona is?" I asked the woman

"Yes it is about 2 miles north from here. You basically just drive straight.

I smiled at her

"Thanks so much" I told her

"Good luck finding it!" she said as I started to leave

I waved as i exited the store.

After filling up the tank with gas, I put my bag of food in the passenger seat and started the car.

I drove north a couple miles until I saw the sign that "Valley Ridge" in big dark green letters

I smiled as I turned into the neighborhood.

I took out Emma's address and read over it

"921 Valley ridge way" I whispered to my self

I drove until I found the 900's

I finally found it.

A shot of nervousness rushed through my body

Its not normal for me to get nervous but I felt different this time

I slowly drank some water and cleared my throath. I then took the keys out of my car and got out.

As I approached the front door I could hear them speaking inside but couldn't make out what they were saying

I took a big breath then knocked on the door.

Footsteps approached the other side.

"Who is it?" I heard Emma say

My throath knotted up hearing her voice. God knows how this will turn out.

"Its... Cameron"

Emma's POV

I honestly have never felt happier in my life. Me and my mom were so happy. I'm happy she's better

We were at the table having dinner along with chatting and laughing.

I heard knocks on the door

"I'll get it mom" I smiled

"Thanks sweetie"

I got up from the table and walked to the door wondering who the heck was out there.

"Who is it?" I asked

There was a pause.

"Its... Cameron"

Cameron. I heard his soft voice once again

I immediately opened the door.

"Cameron?" I managed to say

"Emma" he whispered out

"What are you doing here? You drove all the way out here?" I asked amazed to see him

"Yeah. Just for you. Look Emma I fucked up badly. I knew that I wouldn't have been able to live with myself if I didn't come see you and apologize. I looked for you and I hit that ass who tried to mess with you. I truly care about you and it killed me when my aunt told me you left. Please forgive me" he said

I could hear the sorrow in his voice.

I had no words.

I hugged him tightly and I could hear him laugh lightly

"God it wasn't even you who messed up! It was me! I didn't want to freaking listen and it got me into a mess. I had no idea you went to look for me. Its just that my mother came and she really has changed. I couldn't say no to her taking me home" I said finally releasing from the hug

He cupped my face in his hands

"I would never heard that much terror in one voicemail and leave you to suffer. I don't think you'll believe me when I say this but... I love you. The past weeks with you have changed me and made me so much happier." he said

I smiled. No one had ever made me feel so special

I feel like this is moving too quick for me but I had to say the special words.

"I love you too Cam"
