anyone would reminisce
to when
laughing was suspicious
and side glances were dangerous.
in that school building
seventh grade
where everyone was always watching
like creepers
like spooks.
let's not get unnerved
by the way
they'd stalked you online.
it was years ago
before
long long before
we knew anything.
they were being people and
it shouldn't have been frightening
they were strangers.
who cares why strangers are laughing.
