Just warning, there will be a bit of gore and blood in this path. If you wish to skip, this is the scene where you get tortured by one of the White Queen's associates.
" I-I'm a half-breed..." you respond nervously. These soldiers were intimidating and there five of them. Best to tell the truth if you don't want to get hurt. Your tail/ear/animal features flick/twitch nervously.
" A half-breed. You hear that boys? We've got a half-breed!" the soldier who held you captive barked to his companions, " Our Queen will be happy with this!" the soldiers sounded their approval.
" Yes General, she will!"
" We might even gain a higher rank because of this!"
" W-what do you want with me?"
" You will be coming with us." The General replied with sneer. You hear the other soldiers move in to grab you. Two more pairs of hands grab you as a sharp object is stabbed onto your neck. You feel the world away as a strong sleepiness takes over. A type of sleeping potion. You hear the soldiers celebrate while they carry you off to some unknown destination...
" Yes, a (f/a) ( favorite animal) half-breed."
" Is he/she from the Red Kingdom?" you hear two voices coming towards you. A door opens with a loud creak.
" Hmm, I see. Leave him/her with me. I'll deal with him/her." One of the two people leave, a loud click sounds as the door is locked. Footsteps approach. " I know you're awake, half-breed. There's no use pretending to be asleep." You open your eyes, a windowless room. You were in a chair, tied down with metal restrains. You feel something wet abruptly splashed onto your face. You glare in the direction of the attack. A hooded figure stood there with an empty bucket. " Just checking if you're awake." You say nothing, in the corner of the room, you see a rack full of tools. This was a torture room... The hooded figure smirked, " You just realized? You know, I think you'll make a great test subject for my new toys." he walls over to the tach and picks up a small jagged knife, " Lets begin, shall we?"
" N-no..." you knew what was coming, it wasn't going to be pretty... you feel the cold tip of the knife tap your arm.
" I'll ask once before we start, what is the Red Queen planing?"
"R-Red Queen?" there was a Red Queen? You've never heard of her before. Your family lived in a pretty secluded village. Not much goes on other than the weekly merchant groups. They bring news of the feud of two kingdoms, Red and White. Could that be what this persons's looking for? " I-I don't know anything about it."
" Really?" The knife tip cuts into your arm, a thin stream of blood runs down and begins to stain the chair. You wince at the pain and look away, this wasn't bad. " you sure, half-breed?" He started cutting your animal features.
" I really don't know anything about her." You answer, no amount of torture could get information out, you knew nothing about it! They've got the wrong half-breed!
" Perhaps you need a little more persuasion.." you watch the hooded figure walk back over to the rack and swap the knife for a dagger and a small vile of clear liquid. " Let's try some poison.." you frantically shake your head, the poison probably won't kill but it would cause a lot of pain. You feel the the dagger sink into your other arm. It immediately began to sting. You let out a howl of pain as it connected. You risk a glance at the cut. Blood poured forth, showing no signs of stopping. Whatever was in the vile, it didn't look like there was any effects happening yet. The hooded figure set down the dagger and turned to leave the room, " I'll be back tomorrow, little half-breed." As he left, you breath a sigh of relief. It was over for the day.The cut made by the dagger still hasn't stopped bleeding. Maybe it will stop by tomorrow. You try to stay positive as possible despite the dire situation.
Somewhere along the way you fell asleep. You are jolted awake by a quiet voice next to you.
" Wake up..." you immediately look towards the door. You couldn't see who it was, there was no window on the door. " I'm next to you." You look to your right to see a dark grey and black wolf/fox half-breed.
" Yes..?" You whisper, your voice was hoarse from the day's torture. " W-who..?"
" Stay quiet. We don't want the guards to discover what's happening." The half-breed said softly, looking around nervously, " I'm here to get you out." The half-breed held a hand over one of the restrains. A black flame flickered over it and when it cleared, the restraint was gone. She did the same to the rest of the restrains. " You want to get out of here, right?" you nod and she leads you to the door. She quietly opens the door, looks both ways before motioning you to follow her down the hallway. The half-breed leads you through the building. Not stopping or hesitating at a crossroad. " Stop..." she stops you and pulls you back into a dark hallway, " Don't move, guards." you hear footsteps and voices come from the hallway in front of you. They pass by any the two of you continue your escape. You're traveling through a hallway on the second floor when you hear a guard behind.
" Hey, you check the prisoner's cell? They might t- Hey! What are you doing?!" a guard stands at the opposite end of the hallway, staring at the two of you. " The prisoner's escaping! I repeat, the prisoner's escaping!" you hear shouts and running as more guards approach.
" Go, the window." the half-breed said calmly, turning to face the guards.
" W-what?"
" Just go! I'll be fine." The half-breed gave an assuring and confident smile, " I can deal with this." What do you do?
Go to the window? Go to page 20
Stay and fight? Go to page 21
Here we go, Shadow, you ready? Lend me your strength. We have a measly group of guards to deal with. This should be easy! ~R
Ready as I'll ever be, Raven. These guards will be sorry they ever tried to stop our mission. ~S
