"... I.." you look away, " I do.. It is a history book after all.." Ellie tensed slightly. Her silver eyes flashed with a glowing light for a second before looking away.
".. I see.." Ellie nodded slowly, ".. So, you're just like the others.."
" Wha-"
" You only believe what history books say, haven't you heard of something called a biased opinion?" Ellie glared at you, her gazelle ears flattened, " You can't just base your option on historical books. If you're going to do that, then you're clearly no different than the masses. They're too lazy to search."
" Wait I-" you stop as Ellie's anger filled gaze glared at you. She lifted her head as she turned away.
".. It's useless to fight this.." she muttered as she tossed the book back you, " Hopeless.." she left the room, slamming the door behind her. You blinked, watching her leave. What was her deal? She sounded as if she was referring to her own kind as she spoke.. as if she was a mind reader herself.. You shake away the thoughts as you flip open there book again. You landed in the fire section.
Pyromancers are fire based fighters. Many are hot headed and emotional, like the element itself. Noble and chivalrous are among the many traits one can inherit if they are a pyromancer. They are able to summon fire and some are able to generate heat from their hands. They love warmth and will sometimes be founded near volcanos and natural hot springs. This ability is rather wide spread and can be bestowed upon any half-breed or human.
Pyromancy is quite a gift, both destructive and life giving. It's known for mass destruction if one doesn't know how to control it properly. Yet it can bring the light to the darkness if the pyromancer wishes and is experienced. Pyromancy is considered one of the more free ranged and more versatile elements. It can be used as a form of healing, a defense strategy, or even attack. With healing, it's more controlled and more gentle than the other two types. As the name suggests, it is a healing based ability. Defense pyromancy revolves around barriers and endurance. Most defense pyromancers are very high in stanima and endurance. They usually are a bit more on the tactical side of the pyromancers. Unlike the others, defense pyromancers focus on strategy and tactics. Many make their way to become excellent strategists. Attack pyromancers are the note aggressive of the group. They are often reckless, charging into battles without a second thought. Just give them a target and they will do whatever it takes to take the target down, even if it comes at the cost of their life. This type of pyromancer is also known to be able to come back after being taken down if they are able to come in contact with a source of fire.
The origins of pyromancy is a bit clouded, despite the fact that there are so many of them. In fact, it is because there are so many that the origins are debated upon. Many can agree the pyromancers originated in the volcanic mountains and lava. From there, it branches off. Healer pyromancy comes from the hot springs and geysers, where the many animals and travelers will go to seek healing. Defense pyromancy comes from the magma and molten rocks. A clan of fortified warriors lived underground near volcanos. They were skilled miners and builders. Their architecture is unrivaled by most elemental weilders. Many mages and sorcerers come from this group. The attack pyromancers are the reckless of the three types. They lived the closest to the lava and magma, at the heart of the volcanos. They had simplistic buildings and traveling ways. Their best assets come from their weaponry and way of fighting. Like their surroundings, they're quite explosive in their attacks and raids. Their weapons are often infused with fire from their abilities. This group is also known to have some of the best fighters.
You stop reading, closing the book. You look around the room. Ellie was probably still out. You couldn't help but feel she was overreacting. At the same time, you couldn't help but feel almost as if you had also overreacted. If you had just said you didn't believe it.. Ellie does have a point.. you might be relying on the history book too much.. Perhaps going back was the best option? Maybe it wasn't worth it at all? You turn back to the book, flipped it open again. You could look up on healing pyromancy, maybe defense pyromancy? Or perhaps attack is better? The part you read was only one of the explanation of the elemental powers, it goes much more in-depth. Where to?

To tell the truth, I didn't think (Y/n) would say that to Ellie.. Quite a bold move considering the consequences.. perhaps I could make good use of is.. ~H
