gray and white circled around, taking away any kind of excitement. sounding were small sniffles, shuffles across the room, and pencils hitting the paper.

turquoise.

the only brightness in the room, taking others attention away from the white paper, tan desks, ugly walls.

turquoise.

hayden's favorite color was turquoise. he'd yell it the second you'd ask. it was a bright, vibrate color. his eyes could be focused on something, but turquoise brought him away from anything. an addiction, some would label it.

though, hayden wouldn't say it was quite that serious. it was more of an interest. the color pulled him away from the world and his bright blue eyes would just focus on that beauty.

turquoise.

isaiah's hair was a light up to the dull school. colors were not allowed in the building, just gray and white. hayden wondered how isaiah walked into school with that hair.

the boy, probably eighteen, sat in front of the twenty year old. he was a beautiful shade of butterscotch, hair deep turquoise, eyes dark brown.

hayden has never been so awestruck by someone before. his mind was always on girls and what clothes they wore outside of campus. now, he couldn't stop his eyes from shifting over to the boy whenever he was near.

his hair caught his attention almost instantly. hayden eyed the blue head that was in the front of his desk.

whatever words his teacher spoke were unheard. hayden didn't particularly care, though. the class was dismissed after an hour long lecture. he decided to just borrow his friends notes later as he exited the class.

a flash of turquoise made him forget his plans, so he decided to follow the younger boy who walked down the pavement. "zay!" he called, jogging over to him.

isaiah glanced at him before continuing to read the book in his hands. "hayden," he nodded, muttering the name a bit.

"you're gonna run into someone or something one of these days," hayden grinned, waving at some people as they passed.

isaiah shoved his book closed, bringing it to his chest as his arms crossed. "is there a reason i have been granted with your presence?" he asked, turning right, walking up to the dorm building.

"funny," hayden mused. "wanted to know what're you doing."

"well, i was reading stephen king before you -oh so kindly- interrupted me, taking up my precious time, hayden," the boy informed him, making the older one huff.

the moment he'd met isaiah, he learned of his wonderful sarcasm. he threw it at you unexpectedly, making anyone cringe. hayden didn't care for it much, but he learned how to deal with it each time he approached him, trying to ask him out.

"i'll go," he sighed, turning on his heels before walking the way he came.

isaiah looked after him, a small smile on his face. that hayden was persistent. he secretly enjoyed the effort, truly.

hayden tried again the next day. he ran after isaiah, getting exactly no where like the day before and the months previously. he simply asked, "what kind of food do you like?"

then isaiah gave him that look. it was his, "you're stupid, walk away," look. hayden's shoulders slumped as he walked to the other side of campus where his dorm was located.

hayden slouched in his chair, pencil tapping maniacally on the table. his work was long forgotten as he stared ahead, turquoise taking over his vision.

why was it that he could wave at a girl and they'd give him a flirtatious smile, but isaiah didn't even give him the time of day? why was he so obsessed with trying to get him anyway?

class was dismissed and he slowly stood from his desk, watching people leave. the only one left in the room besides him was isaiah. he sighed as the teacher closed the door, the room filling with silence.

he was about to go towards the door, but stopped. hayden turned, eyeing isaiah. the boy was still in his chair, arms crossed over his chest, brown eyes staring straight into hayden's blue ones.

"you interest me," he piped up.

hayden raised an eyebrow, "i-i do?" he questioned with confusion. anytime he wanted to talk to isaiah, he was basically ignored or bashed him with a smart ass comment.

"yeah," isaiah nodded, then went completely silent.

with only a word being said, hayden hesitantly stepped forward. "turquoise," he started, watching isaiah give him a weird look. "my favorite color is turquoise. your hair made me aware of you."

isaiah's head tilted, "ah, is that right?"

"your hair is gorgeous and i think you are too. yet, your attitude pisses me off. you have an.. a quite interesting personality. i want to know you, understand you," the older boy admitted.

a grin spread to the others face, something hayden never seen directed at him. "a challenge. you like that i'm a challenge, but you hate that you haven't completely figured me out yet," he inquired.

"correct."

"alright lover boy, i thought you were this weird ass guy who tried too hard at first, but now i can see you're obviously attracted to me. meet me at the school coffee shop at three or i'll forget this conversation ever happened."

with that, the turquoise haired boy stood from the desk, collecting his items. he gave hayden a once over before leaving the classroom.

hayden smiled, running a hand through his styled brown hair. "anyone and you pick him," he muttered to himself... or rather, his heart.
