hayden tapped his foot against the hardwood floor of the coffee shop. for the past twenty minutes, he'd been sitting there, slighting drinking his caramel coffee and worrying if isaiah was actually going to show up.

he glanced at his watch, 3:20 shining bright on the screen. hayden had to admit that he was nervous the second isaiah even told him to meet him here, but the fact that he had yet to show up had made the bright blue eyed boy want to cry.

no, hayden had never been the type to easily cry, but that didn't stop his eyes from filling with tears. as he went to stand up, the bell dinged and in walked a sweaty isaiah.

"hi, hey, sorry," he panicked, trying to get hayden to stay seated.

"hello," hayden muttered, relief flushing over him.

the younger boy sat down across from him, breathing heavily as he threw his backpack beside him. "class was running so late and the professor wouldn't let me-"

"it's fine, i'm just happy you're actually here."

isaiah eyed hayden, smiling wide at his response. he never felt so compelled to grab him up and hug him until his tears disappeared.

"worried?"

"completely."

"what?" isaiah whispered, turning on his side in the grass.

hayden stopped staring at him and looked back up at the dark sky. he spotted a few stars twinkling, "you're just beautiful," he muttered, licking his dry lips. his head shifted back to the turquoise haired boy and his hand shook as he laced his in isaiah's.

"i thought you'd be different," isaiah voiced, squeezing his hand lightly. "like a douchebag."

hayden chuckled, "i know i seem like one, it's a front. i'm honestly a hopeless romantic that's confused all the time," he said.

isaiah smiled, letting go of the boys hand. he rolled over and climbed onto hayden's lap. he leaned down and pressed a small kiss to the plump lips and felt his heart spin and his body shuttered. hayden slowly sat up on his forearms, moving his lips against isaiah's.

they enjoyed each other for a few moments before isaiah pulled away, his eyes closed and chest heaving. hayden looked up and gasped, shaking the boy on his lap.

"look! look, there's a shooting star!"

isaiah grinned and eyed the star as he made his wish. he looked back at hayden and couldn't get enough of his boyish smile and excitement. "make a wish?" he asked.

hayden took his eyes away from the sky and nodded. "and you?"

"of course, but you'll never find out," he said, grinning.

"hmph, that's fine, because you won't find out either. it'll come true, i'm sure of it," he told him. he wrapped his arms around isaiah's waist and rolled them over so he was back in the grass. "cuddle, i don't want this night to end."

the turquoise haired boy listened, resting his head of the other's chest. he didn't think he'd like hayden. his persistence was annoying sometimes and he seemed like a fuckboy. he never expected the boy to be so sweet, loving, and he had the childish excitement that he couldn't get enough of.

as they laid with each other in the itchy grass and gazed up at the shining sky, isaiah realized that he wanted nothing more than to lay in hayden's arms for the rest of his life.
