Intoxication
tick
The sound of dad's ear thermometer clicked in my ear as he took my temperature, "38.5 degrees celsius, still a little too warm. You sure you want to go to school tomorrow?"
Oh, the perks of having a dad as a doctor, you'll never get admitted in a hospital no matter what. Well, unless you're already dying. Although I always thought of it as a good thing 'cause I'm terrified with needles. I hate them.
"Yes, dad. I already told you, I'm feeling better, I didn't puke nor faint today. Trust me, I'm, fine... So can I?" I pleaded putting on my best puppy dog eyes.
"Fine." He sighed, "But I'm giving you antibiotics just in case, okay?" He gave in. Told ya he can't resist me.
"YESSS!" I cheered.
He kissed my forehead and stood up, "Okay. Get some rest, just call if you need anything. Goodnight, Lena. " Then tucked me into my bed and turned off the lights.
Okay, in case you're wondering, yes I'm turning 18 in less than a week, and yes, I am a daddy's girl. Don't judge me.
"Goodnight, daddy." I yawned as he closed the door.
Ever since I was a baby he was the one who took extra care of me, he's my mommy and daddy all at once! Okay, to be fair, he is a single dad and he told me that my mum left us when I was little. He hadn't told me why she left, though I never asked in the first place.
I guess, his attention was enough for me that I didn't really look for a mother, although I still want to meet her one day, if the time comes. But I'm all he has and he's all I have, and I'm really grateful to have that old man in my life.

I woke up to a bright light that pierced through my covers. "Ughhh." I grunted realizing it was already morning. I tossed and turned to my comfort and because I'm so graceful,
boogsh
I fell out of my bed.
What a nice way to start the day, Lena. Whatever, since I'm already out of bed, might as well get ready for school.
I stomped into my bathroom and stared at myself on a mirror, looking directly into my hazel green eyes,
"What a mess." I whispered under my breath.
Ahhh nothing disappoints me more than anything but myself. I look so tired, my face is so pale, my hair's a disaster, and my head is ringing so bad.
Guess, I'm still sick after all.
I looked at the clock and realized that my bus arrives in 10 minutes. Shoot, I'm still going to school, I miss Cay already!
I quickly put my long caramel hair into a bun, washed my face, brushed my teeth and changed my clothes.
I stormed downstairs into the kitchen to say goodbye to my paps but saw a note instead,
Had to leave early for an emergency surgery. Mr. Phil got into an accident again, u know how he is. Meds on the counter n dont forget to eat your bfast. Will pick u up later at school. Luv u! — dad
It's his 3rd time this week that he has to leave early for an appointment. He's getting so busy lately.
Oh well, I took an apple together with my meds and went to school.

I arrived to my school and walked down our hallway. It was filled with students from the right side with jocks and athletes, and to the left side with the popular rich girls.
Unfortunately, I belong to neither so I got to have my locker all the way down the hall, with the... average kids.
As usual, walking down a hallway filled with high schoolers isn't always the best, all the stares and eyeballing, to the catcalling and snickering, you name it. Of course, it didn't bother me since I was kinda used to it, but today I feel a bit more anxious than usual.
I don't know why but I feel weird these days. Is it because I was gone for a week, or is it because I have a lot of work to catch up, or is it bec—
"Oh. Hey, Helena. Good to see you here again," A tall buff blonde greeted leaning on a locker eyeing me down with his typical intoxicating blue eyes.
Talk. About. Dreamy.
My body went stiff as I glanced at the gum he was chewing while waiting for my response, "I'm uh— fine!" I choked as I hastily walked away from him as soon as I realized I'm being awkwardly embarrassing again.
"Thank you, Sky Aragon!" I called out turning my back continuing to avoid his presence.
He popped his bubble gum and raised his eyebrow confused, "Uh okay... Oh, you can call me Sky." He yelled. Kinda sounded weirded out with me.
Nice. You blew it again, Lena. Ugh.
