Gene X Reader 2 A Not so Bad Guy

What a morning

gene's pov

 i wake up before y/n on easter and smile as i remember the last time i did this and she laughed as she walked into the kitchen with me covered in flour and batter. i've gotten better at cooking, kinda. i walk into the kitchen and grab some eggs and vegtables and ham. she loves makin egg waffle omelet things with our waffle making and it seems easy enough. i dice a bit of the ham and start cooking bacon because it's her favourite. while cutting and mixing and cooking a very groggy beauty walks out. she kisses my cheek before starting coffee.

"trying to cook?" she says.

"hey! i can cook!" i protest to get a giggle in response. 

"remember my birthday?" she questions and i blush nodding slightly.

flashback

i woke up early to surprise y/n for her birthday and walk to the kitchen. i grab some flour and eggs along with milk and oil. i look at the recipe for some home made pancake and try following it. while trying to get more flour to even out constancy the bowl falls and i try to grab it getting the batter on me. the flour then falls and i cough as white dust arise from all over. y/n runs down probably from the clutter and starts laughing. she walks over and picks up the bowl and flour.

"h-happy birthday?" i say and she nods.

"let's clean this up you doof."

(a/n supposed to be kinda like a funny yet cute insult)

we begin to clean and i explain to get much laughter from her. well the fucked up.

back to now

y/n starts taking control of making breakfast and i smile grabbing HOP to watch. "my dad, the twins, and jessica are coming around noon they need to dome some stuff with jessia's side of the family for easter breakfast or something." she says and i nod.

y/n's pov

i finish cooking and bring out two plates of food. i sit down and cuddle gene.
