gene's pov

as we were jotting down ideas for the wedding y/n sipping he f/t and i sipping my coffee happily. i can't believe how luck i am to be marrying her. we're starting a family with "fur babies" as she calls them. truly i love squip and heather along with juliet and alex. i'm so happy that i've found her and that she excepts me. she was a victim from my past but she changed me. she fixed me and i'm no longer a broken bully.

y/n yawns as we continue to talk about decorations and catering. we decided to only invite immediate friends and family. it was wonderful

y/n's pov

i walked inside with alex and juliet and only to hear nothing. that's very odd as squip usually comes out to demand food. "squip heather i'm home!" i hear nothing and begin to worry. i walk around my douplex and notice the back door is slightly ajar. my heart drops and i walk out. i notice juliet and alexander have followed. "honeys how about you go inside and find something on tv. mommy is going to look for heather and squip okay."

"we want to help!" juliet says quickly. i gulp worried. the ratio of cats and dogs is highly outnumbered with dogs. some dogs don't even have owners and i don't want them to see anything bad.

"i know you do but it would be safer and better if you two stay here. in case the come back" i answer and the both nod and walk inside. i walk around and see a crowd around the street. confused i walk over and hear murmuring on distracted driving and sorries and other exclamations.

"what happened?" i question and heads turn to me. 

"oh shit." i hear someone mumble and my brows furrow. some people part and my heart drops. there in front of my is an orange tabby that was hit by a car. specifically my orange tabby.....heather. i try to speak but my mouth is dry. i hear feet running behind me and turn to see alex. "squip is back!" he says brightly then his eyes turn to try and see the cat.

"oh that's w-wonderful" i say my voice cracking. "c-can you go get my phone honey. it's on the table." i mumble. he nods and runs back. i turn back to the cat i have loved for 3 years and has helped me through buttercups death. tears well in my eyes and i choke again. i feel a hand on my back and glance up to see black hair and an icy blue eye.

"i am so sorry y/n." he mutters and hugs me.

a girl i have never seen; a meif'wa specifically walks up and looks very upset. "i am so so sorry. how can i make it up to you. i was trying to help my husband over the phone. we have a new baby and he called me freaking out. i didn't see her i'm so so sorry." she admits. i choke sadly and stay silent. alex runs back with my phone and i call gene.

"have you found heather?" he questions.

"i'm so so so sorry" the meif'wa cries. "i didn't mean to hit her i'm so sorry." she whales and hugs alex.

"she's gone?" he asks his voice rising. she nodded and held him closer.

"hello?" gene answer. i try to say something but then i start to cry again. zane takes the phone and begins to speak.

"heather's been hit" he says solmly.

"hit?" he questions over the phone. "how she's an inside cat?!?"

"they got out i guess. squip is back home but heather got hit. y/n's a mess and wanted you to know." he continues. i hug zane tighter.

"well i'm heading home now. thank you for telling me and stay with her!" he says ending in a loud voice. he mutters something i couldn't catch and zane nods.

"of course i'm with you." he says and ends the call. "y/n how about we wait to bury her and have the funeral. her grave can be next to buttercup. they'll be able to have fun together and play now. let's go inside." he says and helps me home then goes again to grab heather with some gloves to make sure he doesn't get blood or anything bad. he carries her gently and i watch.

once he came inside again the door opens and gene quickly rushes to me hugging me tightly. "shhhh it's okay y/n it's okay." he hums petting my back. juliet and alex join the hug both teary eyed.

"how about we do the ceremony?" zane suggests and we nods walking out.

timeskip because i'm gonna cry.

after the funeral we turned on lots of movies. we started by watching the hunger games trilogy and then some even almighty then we begin watching all sorts of disney and pixar movies. zane went home before we started watching much and i looked at the clock after brave. it's 7:30 and i frown.

"i should make dinner" i state getting up.

"how about we go out to eat tonight. you shouldn't cook it's been a hard day come on." gene says and gets up. i follow suit and alex and juliet smile standing.
