Gene X Reader 2 A Not so Bad Guy

Awake

y/n's pov

i wake up in a white room and sit up confused. where am i? i look to my side to see a sleeping gene in a distressed state of dream, probably a night mare. "gene?" i say softly.

he stirs before looking up, a smile appears and he hugs me gently. "i was so worried i thought you were a goner. the doctors didn't think you would survive but i knew you would pull through. i'm so happy to know you're still alive" he says in a rush before kissing my cheek.

i smile at his enthusiasm before i begin to question what happened "what happened hun?" i ask furrowing my brows.

"oh you don't remember?" he questions and i shake my head. "well at the zoo we were in the reptile room and say this giant snake. it started slamming on the glass and broke it. then the snake b-bit you. we brought you to the hospital and you've been out for a few days. the doctors were getting the poison out of your system and were shocked you didn't die after an hour or two." he explains his voice shaking as tears brim his eyes.

"don't cry love i'm better shhhh." i try consoling him but my efforts fail as he begins to cry worried about me, his state is semi-disillusion. he doesn't realize i'm better. the door opens and a nurse walks in smiling shyly.

"i see your up miss l/n. wonderful you may leave at noon today but you need to take some medications for the bite and take it easy on your right leg please we don't want to give it more stress." she says her voice sweet. i nod and gene nods as well.

i should probably text my dad and tell him i'm okay. i look for my phone and turn my head to see gene holding it out. i smile and grab it thanking him. he nods and pets my hair.

Hey i'm awake thought you should know. i'm getting out of the hospital at noon

great new sweetpea i can bring over some potato boats for dinner so you don't have to worry about cooking

i'll see you around 5:30 then can't wait to see how your doing <3

 i finish the conversation and gene starts humming softly. "are you okay? i hope you didn't worry to much." i say. he nods but stays silent. "promise?" i question and he stays silent and frozen. i raise my eyebrow slightly before he speaks.

"i did worry but i'm supposed to it's my job as your boyfriend." he says his voice calming down from his tense tone beforehand.
