gene's pov

y/n ends dinner as the conversation becomes more intense. i can't blame her it's been really hard for us currently and we don't need to think about marrying right now. once the two left i hug y/n as she tries to pace. "it's okay dear the just don't understand. we're fine you don't need to worry." i say in the calmest voice i can muster.

"maybe they're right, i mean dad always wants the best for me but i can't afford it right now an-" she says her voice trembling as she tries to avoid tears.

i kiss her gently holding her close to my chest. i hear her breathing calm down as she lets her tears fall. she hugs me tightly and i hold her. i wall her to our bedroom and set her on the bed. i go to our movies and look at them. i grab labrynth and put it in. the weirdest f*cking movie i've ever seen but y/n loves it. she always ends up smiling by the end and happy. i start the movie and then cuddle her. as predicted by magic dance she pulled me up to dance and sing. y/n laughed as we dance and laughed and sang.

by the end of the movie y/n had forgotten or at least looked like she had forgotton about the marriage deal. "thank you gene." she says. heather and squip walk in meowing as they were bored. y/n giggles picking them up. heather immediantly jumped to me but squip stayed. y/n sat down and lifted his paws up to show his stomach. "i put my paws up they're in the air the butterflies fly away." she sings. i chuckle as squip meows loudly in annoyance.

y/n's pov

as gene and i play with the cats we begin talking about starting a family. "well after we get married maybe a 1/2 a year or a full year we should be ready for a child by then." i say thinking of a strategic plan for conceiving. i just worry that the baby won't be happy in our family.

"the baby will be happy with us as their parents." gene says reading my mind.

"i hope so" i respond looking and feeling doubtful.

"i know so." gene says lifting my face up kissing me gently.
