"Are you sure you're okay to go to the shops?" I ask Amber. The morning has already gone and it's near lunch, the sun high above the sky. She's been okay since last night and I hope it stays that way, I hate seeing her in pain.

"Yeah, I'll be okay. What are we getting again?" she says wearily as she pushes her long hair into a ponytail. She hops off the chair that she was sitting on and tells me that she is just going to grab her shoes. I nod and make my way towards the door, waiting for Amber to make her way out of her bedroom with her shoes.

I really couldn't care less about my appearance today: old ripped jeans that the colour has washed out of, a baggy sweater and some lace up leather boots that have holes in the end. It is not very pretty, but as comfortable as clothes can get. My long brown hair is pulled back into a loose bun with the side bits of my hair hanging loose.

Amber exits her room and even in casual clothes she looks amazing, she got all the attractive genes in our family. We make our way out the door and I made sure before I left that all the windows and doors were locked that went to the outside of the apartment. I do not want another event like yesterday.

The door across from ours is taped off but slightly open - a police officer must be in there. There's really nothing the police can do since it was probably a demon attack, there's nothing left to investigate so they'll just clean up the place and put it up for sale again. They stopped going into a lot of investigation a little while ago, when they realised that they couldn't solve this huge mystery, they just help people to get through it.

"We are just getting the lady essentials," I say plainly, not embarrassed at all. Amber laughs and joins me at walking down our short driveway.

"Walking or driving?" I ask, feeling stupid as soon as I say it. Amber needs the rest, so I don't wait for her answer and unlock my small car, getting into the front seat and starting the car with my keys. Amber hops into the seat next to me and slams the door loudly, making me jump. She smiles but doesn't say anything as I make my way out of the driveway, being careful not to hit anything or anybody.

The drive to the shops is short and silent, and like they other day I can't help but notice that it feels like someone is following us. Amber seems to as well and she keeps looking out the window as if to keep watch. A large black car pulls up beside me at the stop light, and in the car I see familiar locks of curly hair - Harry.

He turns to look at me but instead looks at Amber, who is completely oblivious to the whole situation. His expression goes from bored to furious in seconds, and he speeds through the green light to turn into the parking lot of the store. What was that about?

"Geez, he's a physco," Amber mumbles. I nod in agreement and turn into the shop parking lot as well, not speeding though. I see Harry getting out of his car and slamming the door angrily. He changed moods so quickly, I am honestly scared. Amber and I glance at each other and she shakes her head.

I'm only grabbing a few things so it won't take long in the store, but I hope I don't run into Harry when I just saw him and his temper.

"Hey, didn't you go to the shops yesterday?" Amber asks, looking at a stuffed animal out of place on the wrong shelf. I nod and grab the 'lady essentials' of the shelf.

"Yes, but I forgot to get these after-,"

"Scarlett," a deep voice says from behind me. I take a deep breath and turn around to see Harry, his face now relaxed a bit more than before. There is a rose in his hand, it is beautiful. It is white except for the tips, which are a deep shade of red.

"Harry, um, hey," I stutter. His dark green eyes meet mine and he frowns, turning his attention towards Amber.

"Who is this?" he gestures towards Amber in a rude tone, turning back to me to look me harshly in the eyes. I am taken aback by his rudeness but continue anyway.
