I didn’t kiss Logan because I want to be with him. I don’t even like Logan in that way. Nor do I find Logan attractive. Believe me when I say Logan is not ugly and in fact many women gravitate to him. It’s probably his honey brown skin and his hazel green eyes that women like. He’s not tall, he’s only 5’7 but he’s built like a linebacker. In high school we always joked about him not having a neck and being on steroids. For a short person, he’s a big guy. Women throw themselves at Logan and despite all the ass thrown his way I’m sure his always been faithful to Tonya. That kiss wasn’t me gravitating towards Logan, I just wanted some revenge thus I kissed Chris’ bestfriend just to get back at him. It wasn’t the brightest idea but I wasn’t thinking with my head. I just didn't want wot be the only one hurting. but now I think that was the biggest mistake I have ever made.

“I’m so sorry I shouldn’t drag you into my shit,” I tried to explain.

Here I am apologizing for being a horrible friend and I continue to be one. I’m on a self-destructive path. I have no idea how to get off of this self-destructive path.

“I think I know you well and you only kissed me to get back at Chris. Let’s forget that ever happened. DON’T EVERY DO IT AGAIN,” he informed me as he put emphasis on the last five words.

I would never do it again.

Logan went to his office then came back with a number. “This is the divorce attorney handling my divorce. Just give her call. She could help you out.”

“Don’t tell Chris about this. I’ll tell him.”

“I wouldn’t do that,” Logan informed me.

I gave him a hug then left. As soon as I got in my car I called the divorce lawyer who was completely swamped so she gave me a number to another divorce lawyer, Jackson Cater. I called him up and he agreed to meet with me right away.

Jackson Carter was not what I expected. I don’t know what I expected but I didn’t expect a handsome tall white guy in his fifties. Jackson had curly hair and piercing blue eyes. I think I kind of expected an old unattractive man. Jackson was old but not unattractive. He looked good for his age.

“Hi I’m Shanay Howard,” I introduced myself.

I wondered after the divorce would I go back to Johnson my maiden name.

“Jackson Carter,” he said as he gestured for me to take a seat.

I ended up talking to Jackson Carter for an hour. He was informing me of all the precautions that had to be taken. He informed me on how the property would be divided. He also informed me that in the state of Maryland I have to file for limited divorce first, which is separation. Seems how I cannot prove vicious conduct or desertion it has to be voluntary separation. Which means Chris has to agree with it too or no separation or divorce. I mean I can’t see why he would want to stay with me anyway. According to Jackson we have to be separated for year before filing for divorce. Jackson even followed me to the court house so we could get the files for separation. Chris and I both had to sign the papers if our separation is granted. I thanked Jackson for his help then headed home.

Chris was in his office as usual when I go home. He looked like he was working on a new case. He was researching something on Google when I knocked on the door frame. He looked at me with a pencil in his mouth. He always has a pencil in his mouth when he’s in deep thought.

“Hey,” He said after he took the pencil out of his months. I think he was shocked to see me in his office. It’s been so long since I been in his office, I forgot what the office looked like.
