Miss Me?

Chapter 6

The group entered the maze.

They decided to use Todoroki's quirk to freeze the floor of the maze so they could get around quicker.

"This is taking too long!" complained Bakugo.

"Then why don't you come up with a better idea?" Shinso shot back.

"Why don't we all stop fighting and come up with something?" Todoroki suggested. "Midoriya? Any ideas?"

Izuku has been faintly quiet throughout the maze so far, the rest couldn't tell if that was a bad thing or a good thing.

"Can't Shinso use his mind controlling quirk, control one of us and force us to take us to the exit?" Izuku suggested. His suggestion was supposed to be a joke.

"That might actually work.." Shinso said, thinking about it.

Midoriya's eyes widened. "Seriously? That was supposed to be a joke!"

"Well if Shinso says it might work, it might work. So let's try it. Who should we try it on?" Todoroki asked.

"If Deku suggested it, he should do it." Bakugo pointed at Midoriya.

He rolled his eyes. "Fine.." He looked at Shinso. "Do it."

"Who are you dating?" Shinso asked, looking into Modoriya's eyes.

"It's none of your business." Midoriya looked into Shinso's eyes.

"Take us to the end of the maze." Shinso commanded.

Midoriya started walking and everyone followed him. They took a bunch of turns as if this was a never ending maze. Once they made it to the end of the maze they heard a ding once they crossed the finished line. "Maze Completed in Section 5." A robotic sounding voice said.

" 'Next is the obstacle course. Every team member has a different course, this is the only exception to not working together.' " Todoroki read from a screen that popped up. There were 4 different entrances to the course. Each one had a screen and a name.

Everyone went to their entrance then entered.

SHOTO TODOROKI

Shoto entered the course and looked around. There were some easy obstacles already. There was some parkour, dodging some arrows, basically anything in those movies with obstacle courses.

Once he was at the end of the course, there was a mirror and a little screen next to it.

Look into the mirror. You'll see yourself until finally admit something.

Is what the screen said.

Todoroki was confused but looked at the mirror. He saw himself. Until it started morphing. He no longer saw himself in the mirror. He saw Endeavor.

His eyes widened. He didn't want to be his father. Everything he did, the mirror replicated.

"No! I don't wanna be him!" He yelled. He was pretty sure everyone else could hear him. "I am Shoto Todoroki! Not Enji or Endeavor! My power is my own!" He remembered what Izuku had said to him.

A door opened. "Shoto Todoroki, obstacle course completed." A robotic voice said.

HITOSHI SHINSO

Hitoshi entered the course and did all the hard obstacles. They seemed harder than they should. Once he reached the end, he saw a room with a projector and a screen.

Prove yourself to others. You aren't who everyone thinks you are.

Is what the screen said.

A video compilation started playing.

"Wow! A mind controlling quirk? That seems intense!"

"Must be hard to control."

"It's cool though."

"Do you just get people to do what you want?"

"That's creepy."

"Seems like a villains quirk."

The video ended.

"I'm not a villain. I'm a hero!" Shinso yelled.

Another video started playing. It was a Shinso's best friend from elementary school.

"I really like Shinso. He's a cool guy. His quirk is cool. Might be creepy at times since he can literally get anyone to do anything but you never know, that could come in handy one day. Or not!" He snickered. "It might come in handy if he was a villain."

The screen turned black.

Hitoshi sighed. "I knew he wasn't a real friend. But I fell for it anyways. I just wanted friends since everyone thought I was gonna be a villain. I'm not. I'm gonna be a hero!"

A door opened. "Hitoshi Shinso, obstacle course completed." A robotic voice said.

KATSUKI BAKUGO

"This is easy.." Bakugo said. He was on the third or fourth obstacle and he found them really easy so far.

He got to the end and saw a room with a mirror and a screen.

What if it never happened? You would be different.

Is what the screen said.

"The heck is that supposed to mean?!" He looked at the mirror. He saw him engulfed in his flames. Then they disappeared.

He saw people standing behind him. He recognized a few of them, Kirishima, Shinso, Todoroki and Midoriya. Then they also disappeared.

He was left in darkness.

"That's not me.. I have friends! I may yell at them sometimes, but I have friends! My life isn't just my quirk and my ego, my friends are important to me!"

A door opened. "Katsuki Bakugo, obstacle course completed." A robotic voice said.

IZUKU MIDORIYA

Izuku was easily just breaking everything in his way. He was bored and wanted to go home to Dabi.

He passed a corner and saw a room. There was a screen and a screen in the room.

Reveal your true feelings to the world. You have to express yourself before it's too late.

Is what the screen said.

A video started playing on the screen.

It was a compilation of some of Izuku's favorite moments with people he loved. His mother, Todoroki, Bakugo, Dabi, Shinso, Kirishima, Uraraka, Iida and others.

Then it faded into black then back.

It was Izuku's mother crying over a newspaper whose headline was "Hero Deku died due to an accident in battle."

Then it faded to Dabi crying in a dark room. He had cuts all over his arms. He held a note written by Izuku. "It's too late for me to do this." was the last line before his signature.

It faded to Kacchan crying over Deku's lifeless body. He had a massive burn across his chest. He didn't mean to kill him. It was an accident!

It faded to Todokun crying over Midoriya's dead, cold body. He had a burn across his chest, yet he was freezing cold.

Lastly, it faded to Shinso crying while looking over a building. On the very bottom floor was Midoriya's body covered in blood. He didn't realize his quirk was activated. "Go die."

It turned black. Izuku Midoriya had tears trailing down his face. "I'm not dead.. I'm still alive.. Right..?"

He wiped his tears but they just kept falling. "I won't let anyone down. Everyone cares about me and they'll never hurt me. I love all my friends!"

A door opened. "Izuku Midoriya, obstacle course completed." A robotic voice said.

TEAM 5

Everyone happened to walk out at the same time.

Shoto Todoroki looked petrified.

Hitoshi Shinso looked like he just saw a ghost.

Katsuki Bakugo looked like someone finally turned on his heart.

Izuku Midoriya looked... broken.

They looked at each other. "Did everyone go through the same thing?" Todoroki asked quietly.

"Th-There's no way.. we could've..." Izuku sniffled. Unless they had all seen him die in five different ways, they all saw different things.

"What'd you guys see?" Shinso asked.

"What'd you see?" Bakugo asked, not wanting to be the first one to share.

"Everyone thinking I'm a villain..."

"I saw myself as my father..."

"I saw myself alone and useless." Katsuki said. He looked at Izuku. "What'd you see Deku?"

"I-I saw people reacting to me.. dying 5 different ways. One by a villain attack, one by killing myself, one by burning, one by burning and freezing and one by being told to die.."

They could all guess which one they were related to.

"Well, none of that happened.. So let's get back in the game to beat this 'villain' so we can win this." Todoroki said, trying to lighten the mood a bit.

They all nodded and turned to the second to last door. A 'villain' was behind that door.

Maybe it's not a fake villain in training. Maybe it's a real villain.
