For all I knew, Will was gone. Was that his way of saying goodbye? Hell of a way to leave somebody.

I had no idea how to feel as I sat up in my bead, sweat coating my forehead. Looking at the clock, seeing 3:23 flashing in neon green I sighed. I didn't want to go back to sleep, for all I knew I'd be alone...Technically I was alone now, but even more so in my dreams, I was always used to someone being there with me.

Did that make me sad? Or angry? I was sad, but also pissed off that maybe Will really did just make a grand exit.

I didn't consider it too seriously though. Will couldn't actually be gone like that. Why would he? What had changed? What could force him to leave my dreams? My dreams, where he'd been present for months now! It didn't make sense.

Maybe if I went back to sleep all my answers would be solved...

But I was scared, scared to find that Will wouldn't be there. I took deep, calming breaths realizing how devastating that thought actually was. No more Will...But we were actually getting along, he was my friend. Even if he wasn't actually real I didn't want to lose him. That statement's even kind of ironic, to lose something that didn't exist.

"No," I decided. I wouldn't sit in my bed for another five or six hours. I was going back, and I would get answers.

I slammed my face into my pillow and demanded my body sleep. Easier said than done.

I rolled over, squinting my eyes against the sun shining through my window. Looking at my clock again it read 7:32. "Wow, so much for getting back to sleep, Jade," I sighed. I didn't think it was possible to just sit in bed staring at the ceiling for four hours straight, but apparently!

"Earth to Jade," I heard a familiar voice. I turned to see Mike, mouth full of food and a concerned expression gracing his face. Swallowing his food forcefully he leaned a little closer, and asked quietly as to not draw the other's attention at the table, "You doin' okay, Marshall? You look a little out of it."

I forced a halfhearted smile. "Honestly, I'm...not really doing so hot," I confessed. Before he could answer, I continued with, "But it's nothing to worry about, Mike. Really."

He raised an eyebrow as if he wasn't convinced. Heck, I wasn't even convinced. "You sure, gal pal?" he winked playfully.

I paused to ponder as to why Mike would ever, in a million years, use the words gal pal, but quickly dismissed the thought with a shake of my head. "Umm yeah. I'm sure... Pal," I sarcastically added. He gave me a dirty look as if to question why I would not take his words seriously. Hah.

Walking down the noisy and student filled hallway, I had my eyes on my locker and on my locker alone. I should've been paying attention to my surroundings, but instead my foot caught onto something, sending me forward, books and all scattering to the ground. I cursed under my breath, only to hear the unknown person I had ran into do the same. Immediately apologizing for not watching where I was going, I looked up and gasped. Stopping halfway from getting up, I fell back onto my butt, losing any ability to speak. He did the same and just stared. Utter confusion is the only way I can put it. Complete and utter confusion decorated his familiar features.
