After lying in bed for an hour and not getting a minute of sleep, I decided to get up and have breakfast. I ate a bowl of cereal, Captain Crunch to be exact, and snuggled on the couch and ate in silence.  I was internally scolding myself for not at least getting Tyler’s number. Why hadn’t I asked him for a way to contact him or where he lived? Eh, I guess asking him where he lived would have been a creeper move. If he had asked me that I would have been up and out of that diner faster than any athlete. But aside from my rant, I thought about a conversation we had and how close I had come to scaring Tyler away for good.

“So, what keep you up at night?" I asked randomly, remembering he had said he went to Foster Park almost every night.  "Why do you go to Foster Park so oftern, I mean?"

"Eh, when I have nightmares, I can't seem to fall back asleep. So I just go there and walk it off until I'm tired." He shrugged, looking through the menu.

"Me too." I sighed.

Oop! Don't mention your dreams, idiot!

“Really? Is that why you were out tonight? ” it seemed to pick his interest.

"Eh, nothing big. Just reoccuring dreams and-"

STUPID! SHUT UP!

"What are they about usually?"

Act stupid.

“What about-what?” I asked, trying my best to look clueless, while I helplessly tried to think of a way to change the subject. I didn’t want to lie to him; it’s not a great way to start things with new friends.

“What are your recurring dreams about?” he asked, putting his menu down.

Oh crap, now he’s really interested. Why does he care so much? Dang it. I don’t want to scare the poor guy away. I could tell him…maybe he wouldn’t think I was a total weirdo.

No, no, Jade! This guy is sweet, cute, AND polite, those are very hard to come by, do NOT ruin this!

“Well,” I paused, not entirely sure how vague to be. If I was too vague, he would just ask more questions.  “They just have real similar aspects to them.” I nodded. It was more than obvious I was trying to change the subject.

His interested expression turned disappointed, and I felt bad about it. He probably knew I was hiding something from him.

“Did I say something wrong?” I asked with true concern. Great job, Jade, you’ve upset him and you haven’t even gotten food yet!

“No, no. Never mind. What are you going to order?” he asked.

Maybe, in time, I'd come to tell him the truth.

That is, if I ever saw him again. I really wanted to see him again.

I'm sorry! This was kind of a filler chapter! This conversation between them is *pretty* important! :D

Anyways, I'll update an actual chapter real soon!

Adios!
