The night had something in stores for Survi and Abhiveer. Something they would've never expected.

A family living somewhat near to the cottage got to know about the refugees residing there for next 6 days. Their kids heard Colonel talking about it when they reached there playing. The cottage was made back when no one lived nearby. This particular family had made a small hut for themselves around a kilometre away from the cottage when they were broke to afford a house in residential area.

Mr. & Mrs. Aboli went there and insisted upon providing them lunch for the day. Colonel and a few of his officers doubted them for being too generous towards them. They feared if they were there to cause a harm to refugees. After much of discussion they arrived on a decision and let the Aboli lady cook for them.

Survi had to skip the meal , it being a non veg delicacy. She's a pure vegetarian. Though Mrs. Aboli offered to make a vegetarian dish for her which she politely denied. A Maggi cup-a-mania noodles filled her.

Dinner was cooked by the refugee ladies there. They had magic in their hands.
Though Colonel had advised to order food from any nearby restaurant but all ladies denied and convinced the former to let them cook.

The food was lip smacking. Been living away from home, everyone including Survi missed the food of home.

The huge market in the heart of the city made the task of arrangements for veggies, spices, cooking utensils and other things easy. Basics like gas and water connections were already there.

It was half past eight when all were having dinner. Temperature had somehow come down to 3 degrees.

Survi finished first and went out to dump the plastic plate in the dustbin.

She was washing hands in the side lobby of the cottage she was living in, when came a voice of footsteps, pitching a little higher with every passing second.

As per her knowledge, all were still eating. It was barely a minute that she left the hall and reached the lobby.

It was pitch dark then. She feared. Before any other thought could cross over her mind, there happened a tap on her shoulder.

Her fear grew. But she immediately turned to see Virat there. She heaved a sigh of relief.

"Virat. It was you. Thank god."

"You alright?"

"Hm yeah."
Virat washed hands. "Let's go?"

"Yes come"

They both got back to the dining area.
Abhiveer saw them approaching there together. He didn't like it. Unknowingly a frown appeared on his face.
His best friend Akash saw that and was sure of the reason for his changed expression.
Akash lowered his head and controlled his laughter.

"Why is she always with him?" Abhiveer thought.

By the time they were near to Abhiveer, Survi's phone rang. She excused herself. Abhiveer was totally irked at the person who called her at the very moment.

"Rishi you stupid brat. I called you so many times last night. Where the hell were you? Oh wait what am I even asking? Must be busy with your Ramanjeet. My PARJAI JI (sister-in-law in Punjabi)." Survi yelled at her brother rolling eyes.
