Chapter 14. The Party

Hello everyone. Last two chapters weren't able to fetch the readers. Maybe because of delayed updated. I feel bad about it :(

"We're already late! Ashi, come on be fast. Survi.. Where's this girl!!"
Sunita restlessly facepalmed watching her daughters not at all concerned about time.

Ashi and Survi walked out of the room towards the hall looking ethereal.

Survi raised her brows questioning about their look.

"Boj saras"
(Very pretty)

"Let's go now! We're late aren't we." Survi said  and walked past everyone towards the door.

The family drove to the venue. Sodhi's gave a warm welcome to them.

Everything was just perfect around, Survi noticed.
Minimal flare ligts, subtle decoration and the slow music. Something very much of her taste.

She walked looking around at the place, away from her family, when her eyes fell on a face she wouldn't wanna look at. Laksh, it was.

What on earth was he doing there?
Was he in some contact with the Sodhi's?

Survi's mind got flodded numerous questions. A tug on her pinky finger brought her back to attention. She found a little boy, barely of 3 years , with wet eyes and a pouty face.

She sat on her knees to match with the height of the munchkin and wiped aside the tears from his cheeks.

"What happened? Why are you crying?"

"Mumma! Mumma!"

The child won't utter a word more.

Didn't take time for Survi to know he was lost in the big plot and was searching for his mother.
She picked him up in his arms and started consoling him.

"We'll find mumma soon. Okay. Now stop crying. Good boys don't cry." She pacified him .

The little boy, sniffled his nose and rubbed eyes to the extent they hurt him.

"Viv. Good boy."  The boy muttered in an almost un-understandable language

Survi chuckled seeing his antics.

Soon, the little boy started mumbling, calling out for his mother with a glee written on face.
He pointed out in a direction and smiled widely, jumping in Survi's arms.

Survi walked towards the lady, who seemed to have no idea that her child was lost.

"Excuse me!" Survi called out for the lady .

"Yes?.. Oh Vivek.."

"Is that your son?"

"He is. Where did you find him?"

"He's been with me for last 10 minutes, and was away from you for even longer time. You didn't even realise your son was missing." Survi was disappointed with how irresponsible the mother was.

"I uh! Actually.. I was busy with some clients here." The lady couldn't find a more sensible excuse.

Survi left a sarcastic chuckle,
"Clients be more important than own flesh." She paused.
"Well anyways, none of my business. Take care of him."

"Hey! Survi!" A heavy voice was heard.

Survi recognised the voice. She stopped and cringed realising that her attempt of not getting caught in Laksh's attention failed, and now she'll have to talk to him.
