Chapter 13.

Morning was a pleasant run with the family having breakfast together and Abhiveer showing no signs of disrespect or hatred towards Paramjeet. Of course, he was still ignorant towards her. A little less than before, though.

The business deal of Vyas' and Sodhi's was finalised the previous day. The deal was a huge one for both the companies and Sodhi's wanted to celebrate it.
The duo of Sodhi brothers decided to throw a party for their business formals and the family.

There were two reasons for the celebration now. Abhiveer's birthday and the finalisation of deal.

Gurjeet and Nirmal collectively had planned of putting up the idea of that party in front of Abhiveer during the breakfast.

"The deal is signed. I told you right!" Gurjeet stated as they ate.

Abhiveer hummed and nodded in affirmation before speaking,
"Doesn't this day call for celebration. We haven't celebrated my birthday after mom..."
He stopped, his face reflecting sadness.
"Neither you people celebrated your own birthdays. No family dinner, nothing."
"How about a combined party for both the occasions?"

Gurjeet didn't see it coming. It was blow for him. He immediately looked at his brother and found him looking in his direction already, grinning wide.

"What.. are you.. serious? Gurjeet asked as his ecstatic being couldn't believe what Abhiveer spoke.

"I am.. dad. I don't know why I was such a coward all these years.
To not celebrate for a year or two sounds sensible. But mourning the death for so many years and staying from these few happy moments of life is so foolish. Mom wouldn't have liked this either. This time, we have a chance. I want the day to be special.
Will you do that for me?"

"Why on earth I wouldn't?" Gurjit jumped in happiness. " We were already planning to throw a party for the deal that we made with Vyas'."

Paramjeet and Nirmal's wide grins made their happiness evident.

Things changed. They sure did, a little bit.

Paramjeet was thankful to her stars. The time that she had wished for, since always, was slowly approaching their lives.

And she knew the reason of all of it.
Survi. Survi had the power to make Abhiveer think from others point of view and understand them.

The driver has finally spilled the beans.

He was hired by Ashi and her friend whose name he doesn't know either.

Chirag has got the arrest warrant issued from the higher authorities against Ashi. I'm sorry to say,Survi, but it's time for your parents to know about everything.

"I still don't believe my own sister wants to harm me." Survi's eyes gleamed as tears formed in there. She quickly blinked them away.

"We have to now get hold of the other man. His goal isn't accomplished yet and there are high chances he might try to attack Survi again..." Abhiveer paused for a while and said "and perhaps me too."

Detective Nilay, Abhiveer and Survi were on a conference phone call. It was a sudden affair as Nilay made an untimely call and said he had a revelation to make.

I agree, Abhiveer. Chirag and I are individually trying our best to catch him. Now that Ashi will be in police's custody, the task of getting information about the other man has become a little easier.

"I wonder if Ashi would say it easily." Abhiveer remarked.

Hmm.. And yes. One more thing. The police in Ladakh have found the person who had fired bullets on you both there. He doesn't belong to Ladakh and had gone back to his home town the next morning after attacking you two. He came back two days ago.
Remember the Aboli's?

Abhiveer and Survi responded briskly with continuous yes'.

They had seen the attacker's face that day, but didn't speak a word then, fearing the consequences.

It was after knowing that how the attacks hadn't stopped, they realised that things needed to be told, and they themselves reported there.

When they were on their way to the police station, they saw the person and rushed to police station and got the man under custody.
Aboli's being the eye witness, there was no need for further investigation.

Let's see what he has to say about the case. As of now, you need to be careful.
You two nearly survived an attack at Yamuna ghat.

Survi's mind obliviously went back to the day of Khushbu's marriage when she and Abhiveer had taken a small tour of the city.
She remembered how they were about to get up and get to the car and had heard a loud shreik of their names from somewhere around.
"Bend down" were the two words that had later echoed in their ears and they, in a nano second,  had followed the instructions.

No sooner did they let their body loose and fall aimlessly on the ground, they heard the sound of firing. The people around had panicked and had started running here and there causing a loud chaos.

A few minutes later, an unknown face had approached Abhiveer and Survi and introduced himself as a substitute officer who was temporarily on Survi's case from the Hauz Khas division.

After having a word about how the officer knew of the attack happening, he had left.
So did Survi and Abhiveer, not before making sure that they would not talk of the happening in front of their families and would behave normal.

"I know Nilay. My life was so simple, just like that of a normal person. It's all vice versa now." Survi's voice was utterly affected.

The discussion was carried on for next few minutes before it concluded.

"Oh dear! We gotta cancel the tickets for today. Sodhi's have organised a party. For both Abhiveer's birthday and for this deal that we made.
And we're invited." Harish, who had excused others in between lunch to attend a call, came back and announced.

"That's okay. We'll get a day more to stay with Survi. And I love Abhiveer's company. It's fun around him." said Sunita.

"Your marriage is in trouble dad." Survi joked.

All laughed. Survi earned a playful hit on her shoulder from her mother.
"Okay sorry." She whispered as the family continued eating.
