Sunita wiped tears from cheek as she stood up and walked to the doctor with hopeful eyes as the latter came out from the emergency ward.

"Doctor.!! How .. how is my daughter? Is she alright?" Sunita asked hysterically.

"The head injury, luckily is just external. No internal complications. But the blood loss is quite too much. She needs to be admitted here for next 3 days. There shall be no liberality."

Sunita cluchted the collar of her blouse with both her hands as she took a deep sigh i relief, shutting her eyes tight.

Harish and Rishi held each others palms smiling at each other.
Ashi smiled and hugged Sunita, who had come to her, telling her about Survi's condition.

The doctor excused them and went in again.

"Where's Abhiveer? We need to tell him too." Sunita asked, trying to breathe from the clogged nose.

"I saw him going this way." Rishi pointed at his left, towards the stairs.

"Did he leave?"

"Maybe. I'll just call and ask." Rishi took his phone out and started dialling.

"Wait. How do you have his contact number? You two never really met except for the time I introduced him."

"Er.. no... mom. That.. that's not the matter right now."
Rishi gave a quick cover resisting further question, he called Abhiveer.

_______

Abhiveer opened the door of Survi's ward and saw her smiling at him.
Once in, he closed the door behind him, and stood there.. quite distraught.

He had left the vyas family a few minutes after knowing about Survi, being noticed by only Rishi.
He chose for an isolated corner to sit down and pray for her.

First his mother, then his best friend.. he was now not strong enough to loose Survi.

In past four months, they had grown great friends. Even though he was away at his field, the place being a secret to any outsider, he would occasionally talk to her, over text messages and sometimes over calls, in the night time. Having social media accounts was banned for the officers on duty.

"Are you planning to just stand there and stare like this?" Survi raised her brows.

"Survi you— I.. I thougt you also would..." He scolded her, making his way towards her bed.

"Leave you? Not so easily Mr Abhiveer Singh. At least not until I find someone who would tolerate your girly mood swings for lifetime." She giggled, causing herself a sharp pain in the head. "Ah.." she shrieked.

"Stop laughing child. Please." He said in a serious tone

"I'm sorry." She pouted.

"Please." He cupped her left cheek
She placed her hand over his hand, and assured him that she was fine.

She remembered the day Abhiveer had emotionally told her about his mother, Veerita Kaur, and his best friend, Veer.

"The day when I was supposed to be given a name, my dad had insisted on keeping a name which would contain 'veer'. I looked like my mom, he had told me. And that, that I used to instinctively smile everytime I saw Veer. My chaddy buddy.

Veer was dad's best friend's child, 7 months elder than me.
Dad told me that he sensed a strong bond between me and my mother, and me and Veer.

So he decided to include Veer in my name. He was adamant with his decision and then I was given this name. Abhiveer.

Stupid logics I know." He slightly giggled.
