this is kinda a weird way to end the book but i hope you'll enjoy it.

also, the song at the top isn't gorillaz, but it fits this chapter perfectly. it's called 'the light behind your eyes' by my chemical romance.

side note: there are a few flashbacks, so you kinda can see more into the past and how murdoc & 2D's relationship has progressed.

side note pt 2.: does contain some nsfw stuff because there are flashbacks. oh boy i'm not ready to write it. i never write it so tadaa. i hope i do it right as it's the only smut scene i'm ever going to write ever. i've written it before tho so i have a vague idea on how to write it.

He couldn't breathe. There were too many people and they were all invested in an attempt to boo him off stage. "No!" he screamed. "Why do you all 'ate me!"

A flash of light, a flatline, nothing.

2D jolted awake, sweating. He put his hands up to his face and noticed that tears were falling. "Wha'?" he questioned to himself, wiping the tears away.

A nurse opened the door, probably to check on him. "Everything alright?" she asked and 2D nodded. "Yeh, jus' a bad dream," he said and she nodded, fixing the machine before leaving. He was alone again.

There was no way in Hell he wanted to go back to sleep, so he just put headphones in and began listening to Rhinestone Eyes and before he knew it, he'd drifted off to sleep.

"Aye, Dentface!"

2D opened his eyes, groaning. "Hngh, wha'?" he asked, yawning.

"Stand up and follow me. I want to show you something," Murdoc said and the bluenette nodded, doing as he was told. Murdoc led him up to the balcony and sat down, beckoning for 2D to do the same.

"Isn't it nice?" Murdoc asked and 2D nodded. It was beautiful and the scent of the ocean made its way to his nostrils. This was a much better view of the ocean compared to the porthole.

"Why're ya showin' me this?" he asked. "I's no' gonna matte' once I go back down," he stated, leaving Murdoc speechless. "Well, I... I don't know."

That was enough for 2D to leave and begin to walk back to the lift which would take him downstairs.

Unfortunately, Cyborg Noodle had different plans, causing 2D to get shot in the leg because she was suspicious that he was attempting an escape.

He screamed and collapsed, holding his leg and crying. He'd never felt this much pain in his entire life - it was like someone had decided to saw his leg off. He began to shake, continuing to cry as if it would help the pain. He wanted to die.

Murdoc had rushed downstairs when he heard the scream, and saw Cyborg facing 2D with a blank stare, and saw 2D shaking, his face turning pale. Murdoc walked over to the Cyborg and immediately turned her off before running to the spot where 2D had collapsed.

"2D, I'm sorry, I- uh, I'll be right back."

Murdoc removed his shirt and tied it around the bluenette's leg tightly before running to get a first aid kit. He returned to see 2D still shaking and the shirt soaked through with blood. "Shit," he said, removing both the bloody shirt and the bluenette's trousers.
