My palms were sweating as I sat waiting on my front porch. The sun was sitting low in the sky and I could feel my tank top sticking to my skin.
Trevor requested that I were something light and cool. I had little to no idea as to where we were going. With the sky already dissipating into night, I was leaning towards either the movies, or dinner. Although I wasn't sure if he'd be able to find a movie theater showing current films.
I was just beginning to loose hope when I saw his familiar motorbike coming down my street. He stopped right in front of my house. I watched as he slowly got off and removed his helmet. He did his signature flip of the hair and looked at me with a kind smile.
I stood up slowly, smoothening my shirt an flipping my still straight hair. I was extremely nervous. Kim's stupid foreseeings had gotten to me. She didn't even know this guy, but she somehow messed things up already.
I swear, you should of seen the look on her face when I told her it was Trevor. She had beaten it out of me after topolling a glob of paint on me. Her face had been a mixture of fear, disgust, and down right hate. I mean come on, she didn't even know the guy. The hate she had for males was ridiculous.
"Hey." I said shyly. I'd just opened the gate, my hands shaking like crazy. God get your self together Abs! It's just Trevor, a friend.
"Hi." His smile was dazzling. My insides jumped at the sight of it. "Shall we go?" He handed me a helmet from off the back of his bike.
"Y-yeah, yeah...of course." I felt out of body as I extended a hand for his helmet, our fingers touching for a mere moment.
"Then let's go." His dark eyes were bright wit excitement.
"So where are we again?" His bike was parked along with other bikes and cars that should have been trashed 30 years ago.
The only other hint I had was that it was an old warehouse out in the middle of the desert. The sky was almost black, pink loitering right at the edge.
He chained his bike and slipped his hand in mine. I was a little taken aback at his bold gesture. He was usually shy, and not quick to express any physical feelings.
"I thought we could visit this party, and then you know get some greasy truck stop food afterwards?"
I laughed. "That sounds like fun. I haven't been to a party in ages." I was already giddy with anticipation, and I was sure it showed on my face.
"Well then let's go!" He moved us through the dirt filled parking lot and into the building. I could already hear the bass of thumping music against the place.
If I were any other girl, except maybe Kim, I'd be worried. Here I was out in the middle of nowhere with a guy I just met a little over three weeks ago, at a party filled with more people that I didn't know. Instead, I couldn't wait.
It was eccentric in the place. There were strobes lights flashing everywhere, a crowded dance floor with half naked sweaty bodies pushed against each other, and a band screaming death metal into the mic. "This is so cool!" I yelled over the place.
He bent his head down to listen, and then spoke. "I thought you might like this place!" I smiled.
No way was I as edgy as this, I mean I was a California girl, but this party was awesome.
The air smelled of sweat and a mixture of food and cardboard. I saw couples making out, some with little to no clothes on, and colorful bongs. My parents would die if they knew I was at a party like this.
I pulled Trevor towards the dance floor with a seductive grin on my face. Already the music and feel of the place was seeping into my bones.
Our bodies moved rhythmically along with the other bodies against the music. I couldn't help but let out a shrill laugh.
After what felt like hours of dancing, Trevor yelled that he was going to get us something to drink. My thin cotton tank was almost dripping, it clung to my body like a wet rag.
Moments later Trevor was coming back with cups in hand. I quickly chugged mine down asking for another. God I was so thirsty.
By my third cup, I was feeling warm and fuzzy. Energy buzzed through my veins making everything electrified. I laughed as Trevor and I danced like a bunch of wild maniacs. After a while, he pulled us off to the side, a happy grin forever plastered on his face.
"Having fun?" He brushed back my long, sweaty brunette locks. The straightness was long gone, and it waived down my back in sweaty strands.
"Am I?! This place is incredible! I'm glad you brought us here!" I felt my words slur in a few places. and I couldn't help but laugh, this place was amazing.
