Kim Taehyung
"Run!" He yelled, his feet slipping over the wet squelch underfoot, fingers grasping his arm, which bled profusely under the torchlight I was shining at him; the only source of light in the dank sewer.
"What are you waiting for, Taehyung!?" He yelled. "Go!"
"B-but..." My words came out trembling. I couldn't just leave him like that. I couldn't. He was more than a friend; he was like a brother.
As if reading my mind, he smiled. A grim smile that lit up his features for a millisecond. "Hey, listen to me. Are you listening to me?" His voice was gentler now; calmer.
"It's okay. You'll be safe. Leave me here." He stopped moving, as if to prove his point. "Save yourself."
Tears filled my eyes as I heard the words. "No!" I yelled. "No, dammit! You can still make i--"
My sentence cut off as I heard the snarls and shrieks coming closer.
Fear clouded his eyes, yet that smile remained etched upon his lips. "Taehyung, please."
I was about to deny again, when another pair of hands grasped my forearm and tugged me forward.
"We have to leave." He sounded solemn; melancholy, but his eyes still showed that same determination. "Now."
Both of us glanced at the boy in front of us again, so brave. So valiant. He grinned now, flashing a victory smile. "See? I'm okay." He said cheerfully, but his lips trembled, giving away his fear.
And from around the corner came first one, then two, and then the rest of the undead, limping, scrambling over one another, shrieks ringing discordantly and reverberating around the tunnel walls. My heart clenched at the sight. I knew what it was telling me to do was right, but it was so horrible, so cruel, so disgusting--
Yet, I had to.
"I'm sorry." I whispered.
And then I turned, and continued running.
