Jeon Jungkook
I banged on Jimin's door, hoping to god he wouldn't have already gone on that blind date thing.
But, to my relief, after a couple of seconds, I heard a timid sort of whisper. "H-hello?"
I sighed in relief, and yelled, "Jimin, it's me, open up!"
As soon as the door opened, and I could see him, I grabbed his hand and pulled him with me towards the stairs.
"Woah, Jungkook," He sounded alarmed. "Where are we--"
"No time, I'll explain later." I descended the stairs two at a time. "We gotta go, we gotta go now."
He followed me without question after that, probably because he detected the urgency in my octave. And it was urgent. We exited the apartment building and I half-ran-half-walked towards the car parked in front of us.
Taehyung poked his head out. "Didcha get him?"
I nodded in response and slid into the passenger seat, while Jimin climbed in at the back. As soon as he shut the door, Taehyung hit the accelerator and the vehicle started moving, tires screeching over the gravel and dust billowing up around.
When we had climbed up on the main road, Jimin said, "Now will someone please tell me whats going on?"
I glanced at Taehyung, who started explaining.
"So we, that is to say, me and Jungkook," He said. "We went to KAIST for the ceremony thing. But it was taking forever to begin and there were so many people everywhere, that we, um..."
Jimin narrowed his eyes. "What did you idiots do this time?" He hissed.
"Hey, it wasn't that bad!" I retorted defensively. "We sneaked inside the building from the back door and no one stopped us, so it couldn't have been so wrong, now could it!?"
"Okay, fair point."
"So anyway," Taehyung cleared his throat. "We went inside, but funny thing; no one was around. We poked around for a bit and then--"
He gulped.
"And th-then we came to this lab of sorts and there were these...people."
Jimin looked confused. "People?"
"The test subjects, apparently." I filled in. "And they were in these huge cage type things, but they weren't exactly normal."
"What the hell d'you mean?"
"I mean," I saw Taehyung's hands trembled, no doubt remembering their faces. "They were zombies okay? Zombies, like the ones in World War Z or Train To Busan."
Silence pervaded the interior of the car after his statement. Jimin seemed at a lost for words. Then, he spoke, "And what then?"
"You actually believe us?"
"Of course I do." He looked scared himself. "I was watching the documentary, and strange stuff happened and people started running and--" He abruptly stopped. "Wait a second. How did you two get away?"
"We ran to the car and drove back." I told him. "Along the way, we got wind of what happened, like the news was everywhere, but people still weren't sure what was going on. We contacted the others and Namjoon told us to meet at this abandoned factory or something. So that's why we came to get you."
"So that's where we're going?" Jimin asked, to which I replied with a nod.
We drove on in pretty much silence the rest of the way, until Taehyung climbed off the road and brought us in front of the place, where I could see Hoseok and Seokjin's cars parked outside.
"Okay, come on."
The three of us went inside, and were greeted by the rest of our friends; Yoongi, Hoseok, Seokjin and Namjoon.
"What's going on outside?" Namjoon asked, a worried look present on his features.
"Nothing much." Taehyung answered. "There aren't many people on the roads though."
"They're still confused." Seokjin said, from where he was busy packing random things in bags.
"Well, so are we." Yoongi frowned. "What is going on, Taehyung? You never really explained on the phone and just expected us to come here--"
"Yoongi, calm down." Hoseok patted his back gently, then he, too, turned towards us expectantly.
"We believe." I began, after I was sure I had everyone's attention, "It's a zombie apocalypse."
Silence greeted my words, accompanied by confused stares and scared glances, until Yoongi let out an exasperated sigh.
"Oh please," He snorted. "This is Taehyung and Jungkook we're talking about, A.K.A, the biggest pranksters on the planet! You guys don't seriously think that--"
But the rest of his sentence was drowned out as a window to the left of us smashed and a hand cascaded inside.
And it grabbed the person nearest to it.
It grabbed Jimin.
