It hadn't taken me very long for me to make a group of friends again. But it was challenging. They all had their fair share of problems, they had physical and mental problems and it seems that high school just made it harder for them to cope with themselves. As I looked around at how my new environment was, I was heartbroken. I wasn't expecting the popular group to be such monsters. They did terrible stuff to the misfits and I had no clue in that they were doing these stuffs.
And when the misfits saw me they didn't ignore me or shame me because I was once them, they opened their arms up for me. They only saw you for who you are not what people labeled you as. I felt glad about that, to be honest, I was expecting them to do the things that the popular people did to them to me, but they didn't. It just goes to show you how much more civil they are as human beings.
Even though I hated guys and didn't trust them all too well but these three were different, something about them didn't scream pervert or jerk. They were the type of people I needed around. I felt comfortable with them. They were the only people in the whole world I could talk to openly. They excepted me for who I am not who I was. They didn't seem to care how I looked either.
We were an awesome group.
First of the bunch was Max. He was a senior and the oldest in the group but, you wouldn't know it right away at first glance. He had a strong baby face that made him look 7 years younger. He unintentionally told me a summary of what he was been through, getting beat up and that he had to deal with it no matter what, he just didn't get too detailed about it.
He looked like an actual 6th grader from the height, face, to even the way he dresses. His face is small, and eyes were big that glistened in the light making it look watery. His cheeks were a little bet chubby but not a lot. His height was below average too, he was 5ft 5. His style was very loose and wore plain colors with some overalls.
Looks can be very deceiving in this case, because he doesn't act like the same person he looks and dresses like. He wasn't scared and weak though, he was fearless, intimidating and strong willed. He will not hesitate to beat you up if you mention anything about his young appearance or height. He may be super strong but the populars figured that out and started ganging him.
But besides those harsh times, on those super rare occasions he will let out his soft and nice side, when he is comfortable and lets his guard down. I haven't seen that side much though in the few months I have been with them.
Now onto the next one. Presenting the very unique voiced, Jackson. His looks are average, his actions are nothing special. If anything, you would assume he was a background character, but you would be 100% wrong, because of one detail that made him be a misfit. He may seem like a normal person at first but once he opens his mouth you see why he is considered a misfit.
His voice is different, his puberty hit him like a bus and then he got ran over by a speed train then thrown into an ocean. His voice is super husky and raspy, and not just a deep voice, A DEEP VOICE!!!!! It was so deep that when he tries to make a high picked voice by in hailing some helium, his voice is still so deep. Yes, lots of boys want their voices to be like his but once they realize that it is too deep they are glad that didn't happen to them.
This was a huge problem, people would avoid him when he was trying to say hi to them. They all thought he was a molester, as the rumors had said. Another one went around that said he was part of a gang and its top member too. But the funny thing about all this was that they were so farfetched. It made me laugh when I had met him face to face and actually had a conversation with him. In reality, he is as harmful as a bunny without teeth.
Last but most defiantly not least, was Taylor and to be blunt, he looked like a girl. To make it as simple as I can make it, he was different from all of them, he wasn't a transgender or a cross dresser. I don't know the reason of him looking like one though, maybe a hobby. But nonetheless, he was a very pretty person.
He moved here, in New York City not long ago, and he had been miss gendered too many times to count. His appearance made it close to impossible to see that he was a boy, his hair was long and wavy, and he had a slim figure and soft face. Guys would walk up to him and try to flirt with him. But once he told them that he was a guy they still didn't back down. They just got rougher with him, forcing him to do stuff he didn't want to do. But not all the guys were like that, some just hated his guts saying that he was a guy, so he should look like one. Both sides being super bad.
No matter what the person thought of him, they always harassed him, pushing him around all the time. He couldn't fight back against those gorillas, no not that, it would be an insult to the gorillas. They were beasts. But even though he couldn't fight very well he was super manly and I had no doubt about that.
He had a manly speech and acted like one. He wasn't scared of many things and always stayed strong even if all he needed to do was stay quiet and everything would have been over. He was too prideful and didn't show if he cared about what people thought about him.
This group was the center of attention and not in a good way. People targeted us for bulling, pushing, and shoving us around but, at the end of the day we all kept our heads up high and helped each other out and had fun while doing so.
But we couldn't last like this for very long. We all slowly started to hate people. Not because of all the things they had done to us but for the things they didn't do.
They didn't try to understand us, they only knew us by the rumors that the popular group had passed on. They didn't come to us to see who we truly are.
They didn't think of us as humans too, they thought of us as lower than them even though we had the same organs and features as them. They looked at us like a bunch of ants they liked to crush when they want to have fun.
They didn't give us a chance in life, putting labels on us like items in a store showing our worth.
And that was high school for ya.
