Alice POV
It had been four days since we had the meeting in what we had to do by the end of the week. And today was the day of the basketball game, the very game I have to go and watch, to find some dumb cheaters. If anything, I rather just watch my anime, then real people. But it doesn't work that way.
I looked into my closet and found a good shirt that may put me in some sort of mood in watching a 48-minute game. I pulled out a Kuroko no Basket shirt and some black jeans and went on my way to school with my notebook and fancy diamond pen.
I put on my earbuds and put on some Kuroko no Basket openings, so I can really get into the basketball mood and feel. If I didn't do that then I would have little to no interest in watching it. Even though I already don't see real people attractive anymore. Like come on which on would you rather have, a fox spirit that is too handsome for being thousands of years old. Or the normal average human being you see everywhere and every day.
As I walked towards the school I felt like my energy was being slowly taken away more and more. Until I was at the front door of the building and my boring day was going to start again.
You know being an average is the worst, just think about you being invisible in time square and just standing in the middle of the sidewalk where people need to move. Yeah it wouldn't be pretty, you are pushed and shoved, and no one even notices that you are there, they are too busy with something else to acknowledge you at all. That is how it feels like being an average.
I walked in the halls and no one looks at me, and the weird thing is that anime usually is something eye catching, like it is a bunch of cartoons with huge eyes and overly hot and sexual characters in them. But because I usually keep to myself I guess that cursed me into being a no body.
I quickly walked passed by all the fake and oblivious people that just linger in the halls doing whatever the hell they do. I entered the library and took my usual spot and greeted the librarian. I placed my stuff on the chair and pulled out my phone, so I can record the game while I fantasize my imaginary basketball players actually doing some interesting moves, with street ball styles and random dunks out of nowhere.
The game was supposed to start right after the school day ends at 4. So, I had to plan how I am going to get a seat that will give me the best view of the game but at the same time stay away from all the crazy fans and cheerleaders. Those girls are going to burst my ear drums if I get too close to them. And I still need my ears.
Oh well nothing to stress about right now, I will just wing it later.
~~~~~
And right now, is that later I was talking about. The last bell rang, and I never realized how many people really wanted to see this game, like everyone was running towards the gym. I was starting to get a headache in how many people were just pushing left and right.
Once I got to the gym I looked around and I saw people everywhere, some were seated on the bleachers and some was just standing in a group socializing. I came way too late. If only I had actually planned, it out. Stupid me. But then even if I knew what would have happened I still wouldn't plan anything.
So now I have to find a seat before I start worrying about a good spot to actually record the game. I looked around at both sides of the gym, it seemed that both bleachers on each side was completely full and packed with no more room to sit.
I walked slowly up the bleachers and scooped the place out to find at least a small seat available. And the worst part about all this is how people "save spots" for others. When I know that saved spot is just, so I wouldn't sit there next to you. I'm not dumb like that, I can tell.
After just aimlessly walking around I finally found a spot, but it was at the far-left corner on the very top seats, one of the worst spots to sit and watch the game. I cursed myself out in my head. How could I let this happen to me?
I placed my book bag in front of me and unzipped it. I then took out my phone and slide it to the right to get the camera. I put it on video and started recording once the game started.
~~~~~
It was a headache the whole game. Not to just say it was boring, but it really was boring and somehow, we won the game too, with all those terrible plays they have been doing. Like come on their shooting guard couldn't make every three pointer he tried to take, unlike Midorima. And their power forward was so lame. All he did was shove past people. How come he couldn't do any of those cool shots from behind the hoop or an even a dunk, like Aomine. It was so uneventful.
The audience though had a different opinion on the game, they looked so happy and was actually enjoying this, I can't believe them. All the girls were squealing their heads off, and the boys just kept yelling and cheering them on. And then you just see me in the far back sitting there about to fall asleep.
At the end when they started to leave I waited for everyone to exit so people wouldn't shove me everywhere like when I came here. I really didn't like crowds all too much to and treasured my personal space. And besides who would want to touch these sweaty teenagers, that left the gym with a strong BO smell. I know I certainly wouldn't.
Everyone left, and I finally got up and I throw my book bag onto my back and got my phone and just looked at the half ass video I terribly shot. Like half the time my finger was in the way, but who cares. I could just ease drop on conversation, in which I think is way more fun than watching teenagers running after a ball.
I walked down the bleachers and was about to exit the gym until I heard someone talking from under the bleachers, but it was more like a whisper.
I turned around with an evil smirk on my face and started recording from behind the door, the conversation.
"Hi mom, what do you want?" I recognized that voice as the point guard of the basketball team, Brian. He had dark brown hair and brown eyes, all in all he looked average, but people always say he is a great athlete in all sports even though I think Shin from Eyeshield 21 could beat him in any sport in just two seconds. Even though Shin plays football and Brian plays basketball.
"Yeah, the game was good. We won it." he said into the phone excitedly.
"Ok, Ok mom I will be sure to be back home soon. But me and the boys are having a celebration party, so I will be back by 10."
"No mom don't worry no one knows about it. I'm not ready for it yet. It is still a secret." He said worried.
Then there was a pause. I didn't know why so I took a peak and I saw how he was blushing so much, and he looked around making sure no one was near and whispered, "Mom I told you my name isn't Briana anymore it is Brian. Remember I am a boy now, no longer a girl."
I was at a loss of words. I stopped the recording and just thought back to what I had just heard. I must have heard the wrong. I ran into the bathroom and sat on the toilet seat and replayed the video.
"Mom I told you my name isn't Briana anymore it is Brian. Remember I am a boy now, no longer a girl." No way it was real. It can't be. I was freaking out by this point.
"Did I just figure out that Brian was a transgender." I said to myself. I was completely stunned, I couldn't think straight. How did I come and find this gem of a secret?
So now the next question, what am I going to do with this this information.
