I eventually managed to fall asleep at 3am. When I woke up at 6 I was beyond tired but I had to get out of the house.

I grabbed my, now smashed, phone and walked out of the house. I didn't really know where to go.

I kind of hoped that I'd find Rye somewhere, so I could tell him that I'd thought about it, and I think friends could work. I had no idea where I could find him, though.

I could just dm him on Insta but I just feel like talking to him in person. But I had no clue where he could be, so I just made my way to the park.

I walked through the gate as a little kid darted past me. He was giggling as another boy ran past, chasing after him. I smiled and walked over to the duck pond.

I sat down on the same bench as yesterday. I plugged my headphones into my phone and listened to music.

I've always loved music. It's like and escape, for me. An escape from reality. It takes me to a whole other world. It's like I'm not on Earth anymore. It's like everything around me has disappeared. Like the world is on pause.

I can play guitar, and I do have my own one, but I don't really use it. I mean I can't play it in the house, for obvious reasons, and I never really think about taking it outside.

I do find joy in creating music, writing lyrics, and singing. I don't really sing properly, it's more like a mumble, because I don't like singing in front of people. It's something I like to keep to myself.

I was so engrossed in the music that I hadn't realised someone had sat down next to me. It took me a good 5 minutes to notice them. As soon as I did I jumped.

"Sorry, I didn't see you there." I apologised sheepishly, but Rye just shrugged his shoulders.

"That's okay." He replied. I quickly unplugged my headphones and shoved them in my pocket.

"I was actually, uh, looking for you, I just didn't know where to look." I laughed awkwardly, rubbing the back of my neck.

"Why were you looking for me?" He asked curiously.

"Because.. I thought about it, and yeah, I could do friends." I smiled, looking at Rye. I watched his eyes light up.

"Really?" He asked. I nodded.

"Really." Rye grinned.

"Well, great!" He exclaimed and I smiled. "So, new friend, what do you wanna do?" He asked and I shrugged.

"I don't know, what can we do? There's isn't really much in this village." I sighed and Rye nodded.

"Well we can't go to mine, cause, well... y'know..." His voice trailed off.

"We can't go to mine, either." I said quickly. Rye furrowed his eyebrows.

"Why not?"

"Because.. my parents are at work and... they don't like it when someone is round while they're out." I lied.

"Oh." We sat silently for a moment.

"Wanna just sit here and talk?" Rye suggested.

"Sure."
