(Y/N Pov)
"What do you want Clarence?" I asked not moving a muscle. "You know what I want. You're a smart girl, act like it." He said in my ear. He pressed the gun against my side a bit more. "Ok, whatever it is that you want...I'll do it." I said not wanting to deal with this. "Ok, now you're going to go to the counter, buy whatever it is that you want, my car is right outside. I'll be waiting. Don't try any slick shit, or I swear, I'm shooting you right in your face. You understand?"

I smiled at mama as she rung up my things. "Are you ok? You really don't look too good." She asked. I nodded, "I'm fine, thank you though." I said grabbing my bags. "Wait here. Give this to little Chance. I saw this at the store and had to get it for him." Papa said giving me a stuffed lion. Chances nursey was jungle themed and he loved Lions. "Thank you papa. He'll love this." I said.

I walked out and saw Clarence waiting in his car. I stopped and stared. If I tried to run home, would I make it? Clarence's "innocent" smile slowly faded into a frown. He reached over and opened the door for me. Before I could take another step I heard a whistle from behind me. I immediately ran off as fast as I possibly could. I dropped the bags but held onto the stuffed lion.

I heard the gunshots begin behind me but it only motivated me to run faster. I didn't even run this fast when I was in gym class. I heard Clarence's car roaring behind me. I saw my house finally come into view. My dad was on the porch. "Daddy!!!" I yelled as tears began to pour from my eyes. He immediately looked up before reaching under his chair and getting his shot gun. I saw my mother holding Chance. She whispered in his ear and immediately he looked my way.

I finally grabbed Chance and ran up the front steps. I heard Clarence's car come to a screeching stop. I stood behind my parents. I clung to Chance as I kissed his cheek. I was shaking as if I was two seconds from a seizure. Clarence got out of his car and leaned against it with his gun in hand.

"I suggest you go home. I'm sure your mama wouldn't want to get that call." My dad said. Clarence chuckled, "You mean the same one you got a couole months back? She ain't gotta worry about that." He said taking a step inside the gate. "Listen son, go home before I have to put a bullet in your chest." My dad said aiming his gun.

"You're gonna kill me in front of my son?" Clarence said walking towards us. "You're not a damn father. You're a sperm donor. The definition of one if I do say so myself." My mother spat at him. "Y/N bring me my son." He demanded. I shook my head as my shaky breath came out. "N-No. Go home Clarence. There's no reason for you to be here." I said backing into the house.

"No? Ok." He said before shooting my mother in her stomach. She screamed in pain as she fell to the floor. Chance instantly began crying. I bounced him in my arms trying to calm him down. "Take him inside then you come out here and get your mama." My dad said. I ran inside and upstairs to my room. I wrapped Chance in one of his blankets, then I wrapped him again, in one of my jackets.

I sent a text to my best friend and waited until I heard her throwing rocks at my window. I looked and saw her in the tree beside my house. I handed Chance to her. I gave him the Lion from papa and his pacifier then watched as she carefully climbed down the tree and ran down the street.

Once I couldn't see her anymore, I reached under my bed and grabbed my rifle. I walked back downstairs and saw Clarence with his gang members. I put my gun down before grabbing my mom and dragging her inside. I sat her up beside the couch. She had a steady stream of blood coming from her mouth and her wound was still bleeding.

I walked out with my gun and saw all of them with their guns pointed towards me and my dad. "If you come with us, I'm telling you, we'll leave your family alone. But if not, we will make sure that you AND your family end up where your son is." Clarence said. "Admit your wrongs and accept your consequences." He yelled at my dad.

In the far distance, I heard the police sirens. I sighed knowing this would be over soon. "He did nothing wrong! Go home!" I yelled back. "SHUT UP! You aint got shit to do with this! He knows what he did. But his punk ass is too afraid to admit it. " Clarence said. My dad shook his head.

"I did noth-" Clarence's cousin Tristan shot at my dads feet and just barely missed. "Don't fucking lie." He said. "He been lying this whole fucking time y/n. Ask him about Christian." Tristan demanded. I looked at my dad. His bright green eyes seemed to have suddenly gotten dim. He shook his head, "Baby girl I didn't do anything." He said with a small smile. The wrinkles around his eyes became more defined as his cheeks rose.

"What happened to Christian?" I asked.
