Emily's POV

I clambered through the door, I really couldn't be bothered with school anymore. The rain made my brown hair go all frizzy and I looked and felt like a mess.

I walked through into the living room and there was my parents, sitting there, looking straight at me. I panicked, my dad is never home this early. My heart began to beat faster, something had to be wrong.

"Emily, take a seat" my dad said without taking his eyes off me. His look was serious, something was seriously wrong. "Me an your mum have been talking about this for a while" he continued "and we decided that we would like to do everything we can to help you with your singing career, so we sent an email to the BBC with a video of you singing, and they have offered you a place on The Voice."

I froze. I had no idea of what to say. I felt a wave of joy came over me and I jumped up and hugged them both. "Thank you so much, you are literally the best parents ever."

I decided to rehearse for it straight away, my blind audition song is Never Forget You by The Noisettes and spent the next few weeks practising it so I was ready.

As the date drew nearer I felt more and more nervous, more worried but also really excited for the audition. I've become more popular in school because I have a slight chance that I can become famous.

Most girls are concerned about me being in the same room as Ricky Wilson. Ricky Wilson is the lead singer of The Kaiser Chiefs (my favourite band) and I've adored him since I first found the band, singing for him is the most nerve wrecking thing ever.
