Emily's POV

I stood on the doorstep nervously. I really didn't know if Ricky's mother would like me or not. She has very high expectations and that's only because she wants the best type of person for Ricky. The door swung open and there stood a short, blonde haired woman. She turned to look at me, "you must be Emily, it's very nice to meet you. I've heard very good things about you."

"It's very nice to meet you too Mrs Wilson." I said, trying not to stumble on my words. "You don't have to be so formal my dear, you can call me Susan." Ricky led me into the house, everything was kept neat and tidy. "Please take a seat Emily" she said, gesturing to the sofa opposite her. I sat next to Ricky, holding Ricky's hand.

"Is your cheek okay?" She asked.

"It's fine, it's nothing really" I said, the pain coming from my cheek was terrible but I wouldn't dare mention it. "Ricky. What did you do to the poor girl?!?!" She raised her voice a little.

"Ricky didn't do this" I said, quickly jumping to his defence. "It's a complicated story." She led me to the large bathroom and insisted that she put antiseptic and a bandage on it.

"Nice to see you do as you're told, unlike Ricky." She said quietly. I laughed a little, I'd always imagined Ricky to be well behaved. "He was such a naughty kid growing up."

"Really? You would never guess that looking at Ricky now."

"He's still cheeky." She replied

"True." I said, we both looked at each other and burst out laughing.

"I could tell that you loved him as I saw you" she said returning to seriousness. "I do love him" I said, and that's the truest thing that's ever left my mouth. "He loves you too, so much. He never stops talking about you and he keeps saying how perfect you are." I blushed a little bit, Ricky's the cutest. "I'm not the most perfect person ever. I'm not a size 6, airbrushed model but I'm happy with the way I look. I mess up a lot. I make mistakes, that's what makes me human. But I will promise to love Ricky with all of my heart."

This was all true. She smiled at me "I like you a lot." And then she led me back downstairs.

Ricky's POV

I could tell they were talking about me from downstairs. I really hope my mum isn't embarrassing me too much. Georgia was in her room playing with her toys. They came back down and Emily had a bandage on her cheek but she still looked so beautiful. I kissed Emily on the forehead as she sat down.

"We were talking about you upstairs." Mum said. I smiled, I was right. "I sort of guessed that mum" I said smiling. she rolled her eyes and turned to Emily and asked her question about her life. I wasn't listening to exactly what was said, I was happy that they were getting on so well.

"Where's dad?" I asked.

"He's just gone to the shops, he should be back soon." I nodded. I concentrated on Emily. The way she talked, smiled, laughed. Her imperfections made her perfect. I don't care about the scratches on her arm, I'm there always reminding her that she's perfect to me. Her problems are my problems and we can talk about anything and everything.
