Emily's POV

As the car pulled up outside the studio my nerves grew, I was never usually this nervous for anything.

I waited backstage with my parents an my best friend Chloe, waiting for my name to be called. I kept looking up at the clock, the wait seemed to go on forever.

"Emily Rivers" the woman said and I jumped up. Well this is it, my moment to shine. I made my way on to the stage and it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

I took a deep breath an then, the music began.

"What you drinking?"

"Rum or whiskey?"

"Now won't you have a double with me?"

The crowd burst out cheering as I began to get more comfortable.

"I'm sorry I'm a little late"

"I got your message by the way"

"Now lets go out for old times sake"

I was so wrapped up in my performance that I almost didn't see that Kylie and Tom had turned for me.

The song was drawing to a close when Ricky and Will.i.am turned. I never expected all four of them to turn round for me and it meant the world to me.

"Hi, I'm Emily" I said, trying to get my breath back. "Emily, that was dope" Will said smiling, "how old are you?"

"I'm 18" I said smiling back. They all had looks of shock on their faces when I said it. "For an eighteen yer old to sing the way that you did, was incredible. I have never heard a eighteen year old sing like you before. Your performance was unreal." Tom said

I was speechless, I felt like I was on cloud nine. "So Emily, which team are you going to pick?" Ricky said smiling. The way he said and looked at me, I could've melted.

All coaches have something different to offer me, which one was best for me was anther matter. I hesitated for minute, "I'm going to pick team Ricky" I said quickly. Deciding he was the coach that could help me the most.

I walked down the steps that led down off the stage and Ricky, being the gentleman that he is, helped me down. He hugged me and I hugged me back, no one can take this feeling away from me.

I walked through to where my parents and Chloe were waiting for me and they all ran up to me and hugged me. It was then I began to cry, I wasn't only doing it for me, I was doing it for them too.

Ricky's POV

I still haven't got over that performance. I'm so happy that I got Emily, I wanted her on my team so badly.

She's the first member of my team, before her I was doubting that I could find anyone. Her voice was something I haven't heard before, her voice and be powerful when it needed to be an delicate depending on the song.

Hearing her voice alone you would've sworn she was much older than eighteen. When I turned and saw her for the first time I was blown her away by how confidence.

She was really good looking too. Damn it, Wilson. That has nothing to do with anything, you're not putting yourself in that position.

I shook my head, trying to shove that thought to the back of my head. Kylie looked at me with a smirk, I have no idea why though.

I couldn't get her out of my head for the rest of the day. I added two other people to my team, Lucy and Oliver, but they weren't nearly as good as Emily.

Ricky, pull yourself together, stop praising her, your team isn't just her anymore.
