Chapter Three

Okay it's been twenty minutes and the only question I got out, well I didn't even ask it, he just told me; His name is Jace. Usually Jace is short for something, I wonder if his is.

"Is that short for something?"

He was staring at the big old door that probably creaked when it opened; he turned to look at me in the eyes and said "Huh?"

"Your name...." I stammered.

"Oh, yeah sorry. It's short for Jonathan, but since I am not big on names that take almost thirty seconds to say, I just stick with Jace." He flashed me that sexy smirk.

"Oh I see...." I trailed off.

I turned to take a look at the room that I was in, while we were both still sitting in this big ole' bed. The big window on my right was probably the biggest one I had ever seen! The curtains were silver, and hung down around the window elegantly. I look at the back wall and see two big sets of double doors, maybe one of them led to a closet and another a bathroom. Gosh that bathroom has to be gigantic! I turn my head slightly to the left and see the creaky wooden door that probably was the exit of this room. The walls were bright white with little dark blue almost sapphire, designs painted on, between the doors just making the room that more elegant. The sheets that I was still sitting on were that dark blue, and the pillows were mixtures of silver, grey, and black and white, there were so many pillows! I turn my head up to the ceiling and see a fan that was silver and had the same designs on it like the walls did, it was so unique. It was such a beautiful room; it looked like something my mom would decorate. She was so creative; I am too, just not this much.

"What are you looking at?" Jace said in a very soothing voice.

"I was just looking at the room, it's so beautiful, and I love the colors." I said I think my voice raised a notch while saying that.

He gave a low throaty chuckle then said "Thank you"

"Wait, is this YOUR room????" I said with exasperation.

He cocked his head to the side while his light brown curls fell into his face and said "Yes, I like things old, and neat, and unique."

"Wow"

"What?" he said while looking into my eyes.

"It's nothing, it's just most guys have their rooms decorated in Playboy posters and football stuff, not decorated like this."

"Honestly Mia, do I look like most guys?" he said with a smile on his face.

I looked away from his eyes and scanned his body; he had on a light pair of shorts now that contracted with his caramel colored skin very nicely. And guess what else? No shirt! Gosh! I mean I don't mind, but it is a lil bit distracting.... I scanned my eyes up and stopped when I saw something on his chest right where his heart is...

"Wh...Wha..What is that?" I asked him.

"What is what? He said.

I pointed my finger to the mark over his heart.

"Oh that, it's just something we all have." He said like it was no big deal.

I studied the mark over his chest and I couldn't believe my eyes. It was a crescent moon, but it was light blue. It was probably the size of a baseball. It didn't look like the one you see in the sky every night; that could possibly have holes in it; it had small designs in it. I leaned closer to it so I could get a better look, within the designs was a small cursive "A". I sucked a breath in so fast it probably sounded like I hadn't breathed in days, but right now it felt like I haven't.

"Mia, what's wrong? Are you okay? Are you feeling sick again? Gosh darn it Sandy where are you?" he said worriedly.

"Jace, I think I am okay but have you looked at your mark or whatever that thing is recently?" I asked him.

"No, not since I met you, I have been watching over you while you were sleeping, why what's wrong with it?" he asked with a weird look on his face.

"It has an "a" in it" I said in a whisper.

He got up and went over to one of the sets of doors, and swung it open so fast, and stepped inside. He was in there for a minute, and then came back out with the biggest smile on his face, he ran over to me and sat on this too big of a bed and hugged me. His strong arms wrapped around me, and squeezed.

"Jaaaccceee, cccaaannn'tt breeeattthe!" I said in a strangled way.

He let go of me immediately, but he still had that smile on his face, and that twinkle was back in his eyes.

"Amelia, I am so sorry, did I hurt you?"

"No, I am fine, but Jace, there is something I have to show you..." I trailed off, getting nervous about what I was about to do.

I took a deep breath and got up out of this big bed, and stood up in front of him. His eyes still had that twinkle in them, but his smile faltered, and his jaw was clenched together. His eyes bored into mine as I took hold of the bottom of my dark green tank top I have been wearing, and pulled it up on my right side, exposing some of my stomach and most importantly my hip. I used the other hand and pulled down the jeans I was wearing just enough to show the mark I had on me too. I closed my eyes and was waiting for his reaction.

"Mia is that what I think it is?" he said in such a hushed tone I could barely hear him.

"Yes, I have had it since I was born, I always thought it was some weird birthmark but it was always blue and not brown or pink. I never new anyone else that had one like it until you...." I said in a whisper.

He got back off the bed and then knelt down beside me where he could examine my mark better, he held my tank top back with his big hands and where his hands touched me I got goose bumps. If I was right then inside my blue crescent moon with its little designs there would be a small "J". I was staring off into space as he looked at my mark, and then all of a sudden, he dropped the edge of my tank top that he was holding and had me in another hug. He pulled back just a little bit, and looked into my eyes, I used my hand to push his curls out of his eyes, and then he kissed the tip of my nose, my cheeks, and then lastly my lips. Our lips just molded together, and it was pure joy. He tried to pull back from the kiss but I grabbed the back of his neck and held him there. In my head I heard that nagging voice again and all it said was one word but it was enough to freeze me and stop kissing Jace completely, "Mate"

He pulled back and looked at me with pure worry and I didn't know what to say. I mean I know lots of animals have mates, the one that they will be with for their rest of their lives, the one to create the next heir in the family circle crap, ladedadeda...all that junk but what does that word have to do with us? I don't even know this guy besides we have the same marks, well sort of; I get a voice in my head, I seem to fit perfectly in his arms, and he is a great kisser.

He leaned towards me and whispered in my ear and said "You're my mate and mine."

I took a deep breath and then I was out of his arms, disappointment crossed over my face and he saw that. He picked me up bridal style and laid me on the bed.

"I need to show you something and please, no talking until I tell you too." He pleaded with his eyes and then kissed me on the forehead.

He walked across his large bedroom over by the window. There wasn't much light coming in so I say it's about to be evening? He turned back around and looked at me. He started to take off his shorts and within two seconds he is standing completely naked in front of me. I give him a look that could kill and he just chuckles. He takes a deep breath and then what happens next will forever be with me in my very very very long life....
