The Boss and The Beater

It's the day of the boss fight. Me, Yuuki, and everyone else are making our way to the boss room. I looked at Yuuki and saw her with a disappointing face. "What's wrong Yuuki?" I asked feeling concern. "Why do we have to be the supporting group, i want to fight the big boss." "Well someone had to do it, unfortunately it's us. Our job is to take down the bosses minions [The kobold sentinel]. They spawn in a bunch, so there will be a lot of switching." I looked at her and she gave me a confusing look. Wait, does she not know what a switch is? "What's a switch?" I looked at her surprised. "Alright, level with me. Is this your first MMORPG?" I asked and she nodded. "Well, a switch is when one person stuns an enemy, and the second person deals the damage. That's basically what a switch is." "Ooh, now i get it. Alright i can totally do that!" She said with a smile.

We've finally reached the boss room. Diabel opened the door and we went inside. It was dark and quiet. Suddenly it was really bright. The boss [Illfang the Kobold Lord] jumped from his throne and landed in front of us. The boss spawn it's minions. "Alright, let's go Yuuki!" "Right behind you!" I went up to one of the minions and parry it's attack. "Now Yuuki, Switch!" Right after i said that, she lunges towards the minions with great speed and sliced it in half killing it. This is her first switch and she's already a pro. "Good job, onto the next one!" We kept switching and killing minions while the rest of the party is dealing with the boss. After 30 minutes of switching, the boss last health bar finally turned red. "Everybody stand back!" Huh?.. I looked at Diabel and saw him running towards the boss alone. "I thought the plan was to surround the boss." Diabel stand in front of the boss activating the sword skill. The boss switch weapon, just like in the book. "Wait.." I took a closer look at the boss's weapon. "Wait, that's not a Talwar, that's a Nodachi! DIABEL GET BACK!!" I screamed as loud as i can. The boss jumped high and started dashing everywhere. It stopped and landed on Diabel, slashing him across his whole body. The boss then hit Diabel with his sword which made knocked him across the room. "Diabel!!" I ran to his side and took out a healing pod. "Dammit, what were you thinking, taking it on alone?" I was about to give him the healing pod, but he stopped me. "listen... your a beta tester.. right?" what? "You were after the last attack bonus, the rare item. Your just like me, a beta tester." "Cough, please.. you have to... defeat the boss..." He started to glow. "for everyone here..." He disappeared into triangle particle. I stood up in shock. "From when this game started, all i could think of is how i'm going to survive. That's all that matters to me. But you were different. You never abandon the other player, you led them together, and fought brilliantly. You tried to accomplish something i couldn't. I really looked up to you."

I looked at the boss who was fighting the other player. Yuuki went beside me. "So, how are we going to take it on?" Yuuki asked. "We'll take it on just like how we did to the minions." "You got it." "Let's Go!" We both started running towards the boss. I parried his attack and Yuuki slice him. We kept doing this over and over again, and it seems to work. The boss was going for a Left Diagonal Down slash. Right when i was about to parry, it change to an upward slash. "WAIT WHAT!?" It successfully hit me and i got knocked back along side with Yuuki. My health was down to the yellow zone. The boss was about to finish us off. I closed my eyes preparing for it. Nothing happened. I open my eyes to see Agil blocking the attack. "You two go heal up. We'll hold them off." The rest of the party went in and distract it. Me and Yuuki healed up with our healing pod. "UGH.. It taste so bitter." Yuuki complained. "Well you just have to deal with it." When i'm done healing, i looked at the boss. It jumped high in the air and was about to kill the whole party. "I wont let you!" I charged up a sword skill and lunge toward the boss. Right before the boss was about to hit the ground, i successfully hit it and the boss went flying across the room. "Come on Yuuki, let's finish it off with one last attack!" "Let's Go!" We kept attacking the boss with perfect sync. When it's health bar was about to drop to zero, i went in for the final attack, slicing his whole body. The boss then screamed loudly and disappeared. I was panting. "Is it over?"

A congratulation sign appeared above signaling that we defeated the boss. Everyone was cheering happily. I was put to my knees due to how tired i was. A window popped up showing me how many Col and EXP i got. I also got the last hit bonus, [the cloak of midnight]. "YAY, i knew we can do it!" Yuuki suddenly hugged me from behind. "That was some fine swordsmanship. This victory is all you." "You guys.." I looked behind me and saw everyone cheering for me. "STOP CHEERING!!!" Kibaou yelled. "Why.. Why'd you let Diabel die?" "Let him die?" "YOU HEARD ME! You knew the bosses attack pattern, but you kept it from us. You could've told us, and Diabel wouldn't have to die!" Everyone was silent. "I know why he knew, he use to be a Beta Tester!" One guy said. Everyone started mumbling. Crap... This is it for me. "And i bet he's not the only one. Come on. SHOW YOURSELF!" Damn, now other beta tester is put to blame because of me. I need to do something, fast! I kept thinking how am i going to deal with this. Then i looked at my Last Hit Bonus [The cloak of Midnight]. "Guess this is how it's going to be." I started fake laughing, like an evil maniac. "It's not cool to put me at the same place with THOSE noobs." "Wha.. What did you say!" "You heard me, most of the people who's lucky enough to be a part of the beta test were rookies. They were so bad, they didn't even know how to level up. Hell even you guys are better than them." He gave off a shocked look. "During the beta, i made it to floors that were higher than any other beta testers. I've fought tons of boss that had way more sword skills on higher floors. I also know a lot of things, more than you can imagine, more than any info broker." I looked at him with a devilish grin. "Wah.. What the hell. If that's true, than your worse than a Beta Tester, Your a CHEATER." Everyone started talking. "He's a Beta Tester and a Cheater. He's a Beater!" "Beater huh... i like it. Alright, you can call me a Beater, just make sure that you don't confuse me with those Beta Testers." I opened a my window and equipped the new item that i just got [Cloak of Midnight]. I made my way past the crowd and walked up the stairs that led to the second floor. "Wait a minute!" Right when i was about to leave, Yuuki stopped me. "What are you going to do now?" She  asked. "I'm going solo from now on. Sorry to leave you like this. Keep going strong, i saw a lot of potential in you. I know you can live on your own. We will meet again, but for now we separate." I disbanded the party. I take a look behind me seeing Yuuki, and the rest of the party. I left through the door and was now on the field. [Welcome to Floor 2] A window popped up in front of me. "So, second floor... I'm on my own from now on." Please be careful Yuuki... Good luck
