The New Beginning (Kirito x Yuuki)

EXTRA CHAPTER #2

Yuuki

"hm-hmm~ hm-hmm-hm~" A soft tune escaped from my mouth and vibrated in the air. A beautiful day, clear blue sky can be seen out the window. Both me and Kirito planned to have a relaxing day, as it's rare for us to not be tied down by troublesome events. We were sitting down on a sofa while sipping cups of tea. As we listen to the sound of birds chirping and leaves rustling out of the window, we indulge our self in the peaceful day. That is... what we hoped to do.

"Oii~! Kirito, Yuuki! How are you doing?" A sudden call of our names accompanied with a banging sound came from the front door, scaring the life out of me. Thank god I didn't drop my tea... A pink haired girl peaked it's head through the door and went inside casually as if this is her house. "Liz, you should knock first." Silica rushed towards her with troubled face. Her tamed monster came in shortly after. "What are you two doing here?" I asked wide eyed. "We came to visit of course." Lisbeth said with a face full of expectation. "But, didn't you say that you wanted Yuuki to make you food?" Her face cramped after Silica said so. Well, it has been a long time since I cooked for her. "Ah, then please have lunch with us. We've been meaning to use this S-class ingredient we found the other day. You wouldn't mind sharing right, Kirito?" Kirito was the one who found the rare monster that dropped the ingredient, so I had to ask him first. "Certainly. The more the merrier." The girls face lit up with excitement after getting Kirito's confirmation. "Liz, come give me a hand in the kitchen." With that, Liz and I went to prepare the food in the kitchen. Looking forward to the S-class food, I went all-out with the preparation.

Kirito

Yuuki got up from the sofa and head to the kitchen with sparkling eyes filled with excitement. Liz followed suit. I did say that eating together would be better, but honestly I would have liked to have a dinner date with Yuuki. Turning down Yuuki's request would be rude, so I postponed the dinner date until I obtained another S-class ingredient. I put the thought at the back of my mind and focused on the small figure sitting beside me. "It's been a while, Silica. How've you been?" "I've been good. Me and Pina leveled up a bunch since the last time I we met. Though I'm still nowhere near your and Yuuki's level." She's not wrong, considering when we first met, both me and Yuuki were two times her level. Not to mention all the boss raid we participated which gave us a significant amount of exp. She opened her status window and showed it to me. I was taken aback with the level difference. Although it's true her level is still far apart from mine, but maintaining the same level difference from when we first met by just killing normal monsters shows how much work she had put into leveling up. "You've been working hard, haven't you?" "Yes. I want to be strong enough to protect Pina from danger. And fight along side you two." She said with a serious look. I gave a reassuring smile. As we talk about our life and the events that occurred, the fragrance of the S-class food came from the kitchen and penetrated our noses. It smells so delicious, so much saliva formed in my mouth that I had to keep swallowing or else I'll drool a puddle. The S-class ingredient that was used is a giant pork belly from a rare humongous pig like monster. It didn't pose a threat, as it doesn't have any dangerous attack moves that deals significant damage. But it's high HP and defense made it hard for us to kill it. At least the fruit of our labor will compensate all of our efforts three-fold. Yuuki came from the kitchen and asked us to set up the dining table.

We're all sitting at the dining table. Yuuki came from the kitchen with a giant plate of roasted pork belly. Lisbeth came in shortly after with side dishes. The table is filled with variety of food with the S-class pork belly in the middle. ""ITADAKIMASU!"" Right after we all said that, we all ravage the pork belly. Sounds of kitchen utensils clinking reverberate through the house. I get a slice of the pork belly and put it on my plate. A smile full of anticipation perked up on my mouth as I cut the slice of meat into bite size peaces. When I put it in my mouth, a blast of flavor assaulted my tongue. The tenderness and flavor of the meat are high class with the crispiness of the skin complimenting the soft meat. And with the side dishes that compliment the pork belly such as salads and fruits as well as the utmost important bowl of rice, it is a feast that rivals that of your nearest five star restaurant. None of us said a word as we all indulge our self in savoring the S-class food to it's fullest.

We stared at the empty greasy plate in the middle of the table. The lingering smell of what once were the most delicious pork belly we've ever had slowly dissipate into the surrounding. We all lean back on our chair while letting out a groan of satisfaction. "That was the best meal I've ever had..." What Lisbeth said wasn't an exaggeration. If I have to say, it's more delicious than any food I've ever had both in-game and IRL. "I think I'm going to raise my cooking skill as well~" Lisbeth said in a joking manner, although her eyes says the opposite. "You don't need to do that. You can just ask me to make you something." Cooking skills are useless here as it doesn't help you in battle. Almost no one raises their cooking skills. I don't know why Yuuki decided to do so, but we're so glad she did. "So, how's life outside the front line?" A sudden question was sent towards us from Liz. "How should I say this. I feel like trouble is always around every corner whether we're in the front line or not. I'm exhausted. I'd like to relax a ton today." I said with dissatisfaction written all over my face. Events from the minor ones to the most ridiculous and laboursome ones appear everyday. That's why today me and Yuuki would rather stay in our home, outside the range of anything that spells trouble. "Aren't you just making excuses so you can have some alone time with Yuuki?" I choke on the tea I was sipping after she said that. "I can't deny that..." I haven't had some quality time alone with Yuuki. I planned to have an at-home dinner date with Yuuki today, until these two decided to show up. "we-we're sorry for interrupting your time together, Kirito." Silica suddenly raised her voice. "i-it's fine. No need to apologize. Having you two here makes it all the better." I don't mind having the company of my other friends around. Besides, there's always tomorrow.

A couple hours had passed by. Our time together was spent playing games, even though we're currently inside a game. And sometimes later, the two girls said their goodbyes and left. Right now, me and Yuuki are sitting on the couch, sipping some tea while looking at the moon and stars outside the window. "Hey Kirito~ Back then, you said you wanted to have some alone time?" "well~ we haven't spend a good time together, just the two of us. That's why I suggested we take it easy today." I said embarrassingly while scratching my cheek. I took a peek at Yuuki. She smiled with rosy cheecks, looking all cute. She rest her head on my shoulder and we spent the few minutes of silent like this. Bathing in the light of the moon shining from the window, I hope time would stop as we hold each other closely like this.

Yuuki raise her head from my shoulder. She then entrusted her body as she kept leaning on to me. As if being guided by my heart, I give in to the weight, fall on my back and...
