Travelling Love

Chapter 10

We got home at around 11pm. Everybody went up to bed except Joe and Zoe and I. The three of us sat on the couch watching some YouTube videos on the tv. It was nice, there was no third wheeling for anyone. Everybody just really got along and spoke until 1am when Zoe couldn't hold out and went to bed. Joe and I sat on the couch dead tired.

"I love you, Joe. I really do so much. You are everything."

"Shhh babe. I love you too." He said and kissed my forehead as I cuddled up to him.

"Let's go up to bed." He said.

"Carry me" I said and threw my arms up.

He picked me up and carried me up to bed. I fell asleep as my head hit the pillow, still wearing my clothes.

I felt Joe cuddle up to me and kiss my cheek during the night, that must have been when he decided to try to fall asleep.

*the next morning*

I woke up to an empty bed. And a note next time bed.

"Hey babe. Zoe, Caspar, Oli and I decided to go out for some breakfast then to the beach. We didn't want to wake you up. When you wake up and you're ready, you can give me a call if you'd like to join us. Josh isn't feeling so well so he's lying down in his room. I love you. xoxo"

I got out of bed, it was already 10am and Joe and them must have left at 8 already. I took a walk to Josh's room. He was awake on his phone.

"Hey mate, you alright?" I said.

"Yeah I'm good, I just wasn't in the mood for breakfast." He said and chuckled.

"Do you want to take a drive? We can maybe go to a game park?"

"That sounds good. I'll get ready and then we can leave in 30 minutes?" He asked.

"Definitely!"

I went back to my room and picked out my outfit for the day. A black high waisted skirt, a white tight crop top, black vans and knee-high white socks. I took a shower and then got dressed. I threw my hair into a French plait as I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in, Josh"

Josh walked in ready to go.

"Let me just do my makeup, give me 5 minutes, you can come chill on the bed if you want, while you wait."

Josh sat on the bed. I started off with a little concealer, then powder foundation. Did my eyebrows, some mascara and eye pencil. Highlighter and lipstick.

"Okay I'm ready!"

I grabbed a black hand bag, threw in concealer and lipstick, my phone, car and house keys, my wallet and my vlogging camera with its extra battery. I already had some wet wipes, gum and hair ties in the bag.

"Just the essentials, hey." I said and laughed.

We got into my car. Josh brought his big camera with a long lens to take some nice photos of the animals.

"Joe and then must have taken an Uber." I said to Josh.

I played a CD with all my old music from when I was 16. Josh felt the nostalgia just as much as I did. We were singing loudly with my vlogging camera mounted on the dashboard. About 30 minutes later at 11:15 we arrived at Addo Elephant Park. We got out of the car to go and pay. They had a small café inside, so Josh went to buy the tickets and I went to get "padkos" (food for the road). I grabbed some jelly babies, pies, a few coke lights (in glass bottles), chips, licorice, chocolate and Oreos. When I got to the till I grabbed 2 packets of Tim Tams 😍 and Cadbury Assorted packet. We're going to get fat. I got back to Josh just as he finished getting the maps and tickets.

"Wow. Did you buy enough food for the week?" He said.

"Just enough for the trip to the restaurant and back." I laughed.

We got into the car and started driving. After 10 minutes we saw our first animal, a warthog. Josh was vlogging for me and when we stopped he took some photos with his bigger camera. After that it was some time before we saw any more animals. About 15 long minutes we saw whole herd of elephants drinking at the water hole. There were even some baby elephants. We got to the restaurant a little after that and sat down to have a bite to eat. Josh ordered the continental breakfast even though it was already 12:15, with a strawberry milkshake. I ordered a chicken wrap with a chocolate milkshake. We sat and ate until 13:30 when my phone rang. It was Joe.

"Hey babe."

"Hey, love. You're awake!" He said.

"Yeah, Joe I'm with Josh at a Game Park actually. We decided last minute to take a drive."

"That's awesome. Wish I was with you guys. We're at the beach now, it's lovely weather." He said.

"Yeah it really is. We should be back at 5:00. See you then?"

"Yeah babe, see you then. I love you. Enjoy and take lots of photos for me."

"Will do. I love you, too. See you soon."

I hung up.
