Nick didn't know I was listening to him as he told Mercy he would walk both her & Karleigh to school the next day. My heart melted. He watched Mercy bounce out of the kitchen, then saw me standing just outside the dining room watching him, smile on my face.

"Good morning, Gorgeous." Nick smiled as he stood up to kiss me.

"You're so sweet, offering to walk Karleigh to school, too. You just made Mercy's day."

"It's what I do." Nick shrugged as he took Mercy's bowl to the sink. "You should go talk to Karleigh's grandma today, though to make sure it's okay with her."

"Maybe I will." I turned back toward the living room when I heard Reid whining.

Jerry was trying to get the remote from Reid, since Reid snatched it off the couch & ran with it. "Give it back doodoo head!" Jerry yelled at his brother.

I sighed, then went to grab the remote from Reid. I switched off the tv & put the remote up on the bookshelf. "Jerry, it's not nice to call your brother names." I said.

Jerry stuck his lip out & glared at Reid. "Sorry, Reid. You're not a doodoo head."

I tried not to laugh, wondering what exactly a doodoo head was. I was guessing it was kid speak for shithead. In any case it wasn't appropriate for him to say to his brother. "Thank you for apologizing. Now can you go & get your shoes on, please?" I watched Jerry run off as Reid took his spot on the couch. Nick came in, grinning. "What are you laughing at?" I asked, poking him in the ribs.

"Nothing, doodoo head." He mumbled before kissing my cheek & sitting next to Reid on the couch, not before he snatched the remote off the shelf. "You hungry buddy?" He asked as he picked Reid up & sat him on his lap. He flipped on the tv as Reid shook his head that he wasn't hungry.

"Cute." I mumbled, then smiled when he glanced at me, a big cheesy grin on his face. "I'm gonna walk the twins to school with Destiny's mom, Haley. Okay?" I asked. Nick nodded, smiling. "Then I'm going to stop by Karleigh's grandma's house, so I don't know when I'll be back."

"Okay, babe. Have fun. Be careful. Reid & I are gonna hang out & watch cartoons, while you're gone." Nick leaned to speak in Reid's ear. "Tell Mommy bye." Reid looked at me, smiled & waved. "Love you, Mommy." Nick said, making Reid giggle & repeat him.

I laughed, rolling my eyes. "Love you, too!" I shouted as I walked from the room. I got the twins ready to leave & we headed down the driveway toward Destiny's house. Destiny was in first grade, but she still was friends with the twins. They all played together. I was holding Jerry's hand as we walked, with Mercy ahead of us.

"Mommy?" Jerry asked.

"Yea?"

"When is Father Son day at school?" He was pouting up at me.

"Um I think it's after the new year. Why?"

"I want to spend time with just Daddy." He glared at his sister & I couldn't help but to smile. He loved his sister, but sometimes I think he wanted Nick to himself once in a while. "Mercy & Reid are always around." He said in an annoyed tone.

I felt bad now. He loved spending time with Nick & Nick did his best to spend time with all the kids, but I think Jerry was due for some daddy time. "Hmm. Well, if Mercy has Karleigh come over this weekend, maybe you & Daddy can do something together."

Jerry's face lit up as he got excited. Suddenly, his face was concerned. "Don't feel bad though, Mommy. I still love you & we could have a date night soon, if you want."
