To say I was surprised was an understatement. I never expected him to apologize, yet make me breakfast. Those kinds of things didn't go well with his attitude.

His cooking was amazing to say the least. After I finished, it was awkward. In a way, I didn't want to leave, to go back home. Staying here with him would be much more managable then home.

But I was still scarred from what he said the night before. His words still haunted me, awake and asleep. They would continue to mock me, and yet I could do nothing but suffer from it.

Finished eating, I stood awkwardly by the table.

"So um, I can leave now right?" I asked.

He stopped and looked at me, and raised his eyebrows. "I don't care. If you want go ahead."

I nodded, feeling hurt and upset. For what though? I guess because seeing him finally being kind towards me hoped he would let me stay a little longer.

"Okay then, Bye uh...?"

"Rowen."

"Bye Rowen. Thanks for letting me stay."

I walked back towards the door, dreading to see my parents. Rowen called out, stopping me. Was he going to say I could stay?

"Hey!"

"Yes?"

"What's your name?"

"Oh Marnie. Marnie Summers."

He nodded his head before leaning back against the wall, crossing his arms.

"Well Marnie, I can tell you don't want to go back to your home for whatever shitty reason." He said. I glared. My reasons weren't shitty! "And for being such a dick yesterday, I guess you can stay longer."

I smiled, something I don't do alot. I only smirked, sneered, frowned or glared. Never smiling. But I did, a real genuine one.

"Thank you."

He only shrugged, his face empty of emotion except a frown. "Yeah whatever. Get the fuck in the house."

I frowned.

Great, he went back to being a asshole.

Author's Note: So if ppl are confused, Rowen isn't used to being so... kind & nice. I dont want to give away to much, but he came to be an asshole and ignorant, not caring for people's feelings. So he's forcing himself to care for Marnie, which is so sweet!
