Chapter three

okay hey people I just wanted to say the first two chapters were really short and I am sorry about that. but this chapter will be longer.

(sorry people. but ya will find out what happens in between the 10 years that went by.)

Maureen was walking through the market looking at all the different things being sold. H,er eyes caught a gold glint, she stopped to turn to see what it was.When she looked it was a beautiful gold heart shaped necklace.

She picked it up holding it in her hand as if it was a a baby bird, and admired it for a moment before she heard someone clear their throat. She looked up to see a man in his late fifties. His hair was white and receeding. He had two beady little eyes that stared at her making her uncomfortable. "Can I help you?" He asked sounding bored. "Oh no, I was just looking." Maureen replied back and set the necklace down before walking away.

She walked away from the market and then turned down into an ally to take a short cut to Samuel's house. She walked until a familiar house came into view, it was a brown two story house that the Bloodmoon family had lived in since Jenna was born.

Maureen walked up to the door and knocked, she waited then she heard foot steps coming to the door. The door was flung open and there stood Jenna in the door way. Jenna was a nice girl, she was always nice to her family but to Maureen she was as mean as she could get. Her blond hair was pulled back in a braid. and her blue eyes bore holes into Maureen. "What do you want?" she said giving Maureen a dirty look. "Is Sam and John here?" Maureen asked politely not wanting to get into another fight with Jenna.

"No, they are not home and I don't think they want you bugging them again today!" she all but yelled at Maureen and slammed the door shut. Maureen got very mad her eyes darkened and she opened the door

"Jenna Bloodmoon!" she heard Mrs.Bloodmoon yell when she saw Maureen open the door again "If you ever do that again to the princess I will throw you out of the house. Now say your sorry!" Jenna's mother was a nice woman and hardly ever yelled or got mad but Jenna pushed her to the limits. Jenna slowly turned and said "My princess I am sorry." before she turned and walked upstairs.

Mrs. Bloodmoon walked over to Maureen and Maureen's eyes lightened to their light brown colour. "I am sorry about that Maureen, I don't know what has got into that girl." she said hugging Maureen. then looked her in the eyes "Maureen I see your eyes have more gold flecks in them then last week."

Maureen smiled "Yeah I was told. Anyway Jenna said Sam and John are out where are they?" she asked. Mrs.Bloodmoon smiled "They are out in the Field working the horses" Maureen smiled and said "Thanks Mrs.Bloodmoon." then started to walk out of the house. "Wait Maureen! they have one of the horses out back saddled and ready for you." Maureen laughed "They must have known I was coming." Mrs.Bloodmoon just smiled and nodded her head.

Maureen ran to the barn and found her favorite horse saddled and ready for her just like she was told. She got on the horses back and then she was off to the Fields.
